Whispers from the Writing Nook
Added 2025-08-10 16:20:57 +0000 UTCThis week and next week are being eaten up by the behemoth that is Worldcon. The convention is in Seattle this year, and a close friend asked me very nicely to run a bookshop for panelists at it.
I said yes, and a good chunk of my time over the past months have been spent getting things in order. Now, the convention is actually here and my living room is packed with boxes, bookshelves and all sorts of stuff.
We leave tomorrow and won’t be back until next Monday.
I’m excited for the convention but I’m also looking forward to being home, and done with it. The amount of time it will free up will help me get a giant part of book 3 done.
Yesterday I got a sneak peek at the cover of book 1 and I’m over the moon excited. November isn’t going to get here fast enough. The moment I have a copy of the book in my hands, I’ll probably cry.
Since we are gone for a week, our weather has changed from cool to just freaking hot. My garden will suffer for it and I hope that when we get back it isn’t in too bad condition. I need to go pick the first of the tomatoes this afternoon, and get them in the freezer to make sauce.
The flowers this year are out of this world.
I’ll update everyone next week, but later in the week once I’m home.
