Whispers from the Writing Nook
Added 2025-04-13 16:04:26 +0000 UTCThis week started off amazing with getting a ton of words in for Meow Volume Two. I absolutely love the direction this book is going and wrote seven episodes. The eighth is almost done, but I need a better episode ending.
A sore throat has caught me which really sucks given I only have a short time to recover before the convention this week. This Thursday, I need to drive a long distance with my SUV packed to the gills with books, shelving, and stickers. But the bright side is that my bestie is flying in to help. A convention plus bookstore plus my bestie? I absolutely need to get better as soon as possible.
Let’s talk about waffles… I love waffles; everyone in my books loves waffles. Not as much as bacon, but they can be a little healthier than just eating a breakfast of bacon. I bought a waffle maker.
… … …
There must be some magical waffle skill because I don’t have this down yet. Not at all. Goopy on the inside, splitting in half, mix all over the place, and not a single edible waffle. I ended up making pancakes. Pancakes are simple. Waffles are hard mode. I will figure this out with the help of YouTube and boxes of waffle mix, but not this week.
My tea is full of honey as I try to beat this sore throat. If I could curl up with a good book, I would.
May your days be filled with warm tea and even warmer stories.

I don’t know, I like my waffles and pancakes just a smidge goopy in the middle. I know it means they aren’t fully cooked, but at least so long as everything is still hot I like the texture and taste of the under cooked pancake/waffle.
