You should definitely make more videos of your work process. I, at least, would appreciate it. Things such as screen tones may seem easy, but are still challenging to us little guys. As a suggestion might I mention we do not need the highest quality productions. Fine tuned videos are great, but they must tax you more that just recording what you are doing at the time with occasional commentary. I check YouTube all the time, and here to see if you have posted. You are the best I have ever found that hits the notes I someday want to hit myself. You share more liberally info that I have never seen before. I played with screen tones last night for the first time, and it was rewarding. Before I went back to see that particular post I had no idea that was how you gave your line art the illusion of dimension with these tones. At least to my knowledge that kind of thing is not common knowledge. I have wondered for years how manga illustrators did the tones. Wonderful. Keep up the awesome work, regardless. Love to you.

awesome, thanks man

My canvas is 7.5x10 @300dpi. I use around 50% size. I have noticed however that on procreate, font that I used at 19size is now too large and I need to go with 10size font. I don't know if that has anything to with brush size either, but procreate sizes might be different for us. It's a weird glitch, one day I woke up and procreate fonts were a different size, so that might be happened to brushes too. If 15% is best for you, then go with that, as long as it lets you the option of quickly flowing between thick and thin lines.

Quick question, I have my canvas set for 10 and a half inches by 7 and a half. I had seen that was your size that you recommended. I tried your brushes at 40% and it is too big and not reacting the same no matter how light the stroke is. I can get your results at around 15% with the canvas size I have. Do you do a different canvas size either in inches or pixels now?

✨🙏🏽✨

Sure!

Amazing content bro. This is koteri gold!

Awesome stuff! Would love to see the coloring process too :)

Thanks! Yea, making it look natural was a huge deal for me.

It's a great investment. One, it's as good as a higher end cintiq (I have a 21" Wacom gathering dust because of my iPad) and two, you don't have to pay Adobe monthly (that is if you're not pirating).

That was awesome. Thanks for sharing. I like how soft your strokes can be. And you are one of the only artists I know that can make it look like you did it in pencil and pen the whole time rather than digital. That is a huge deal.

I need an ipad 😓 lol

Procreate brushes don't work with PS but PS brushes do work with procreate.

😁

Do you have Photoshop version?

This was so helpful! Thank you for spending the time to make this🙌🏽

Soft ink is exactly the same as hard ink, but set to 70% opacity. It creates more of a smooth pencil look whereas the hard ink is harder, more like traditional ink.

Call me dumb but what are the differences between the two brushes. I don’t seem to notice it on procreate 🙃

You're welcome! Hope you enjoy. The playlist was fun to make ✨😅

Looks like I’m staying up later tonight! Thanks for making this video!!
