Not much to say this week. I posted over on the FM hyperboard to gather opinions on how FM specifically, but the genre in general, has shifted - by all means, have a look or leave a comment.
Otherwise, still just plinking away at the keyboard. Still riddled with self-doubt and frustration, but I'm writing through it rather than stalling out, so that's something. I'm not entirely sure what's at the root of the disatisfaction. I'm writing my thousand-a-day, but it doesn't feel like enough. On the other hand, I've genuinely enjoyed writing Who Made the Lamb. It's such a different vibe than Constant that it makes a refreshing change. There's a lot of things I'd love to do with the story, areas or characters I want to explore, but those all involve stretching it out into something much longer. I need to step back and give it a bit of a think.
Well, I've got a little time off coming up, so hopefully rest helps clear my head. Or if not my head, at least my body. Judging by the faint pink line on the testing kit, Covid's still hanging out at the Fakeminsk homestead, and though not a welcome visitor it may go some way in explaining recent low mood.
Next Week:
Monday: Constant Book 6, Chapter 6: A Good Girl (previously, A Christmas Story) for all paying members.
Wednesday: Who Made the Lamb, part 1 for all paying members.
Comments
Yeah, it's largely going to be a rest-and-wait kind of thing. It's just annoying how often it seems to pop around for another visit. As for FM, I'm just waiting to see if any more comments appear, then try and consolidate it all alongside my own thoughts, whatever those might be.

2025-04-04 13:07:24 +0000 UTCThe FM hyper-board conversation was interesting. I'm surprised/ but not really that surprised that the proportions of the themes have remained so constant over the years. Vis a vis the Covid - don't push yourself too hard trying to recover - these things have their season and exhausting yourself trying to get better will only prolong things...
