Nearly a year ago, I lay some groundwork for a possible short story. That's Kieran, a young Irish lad who's gotten himself into a bit of trouble. The artwork is courtesy of Fraylim. I think the picture really nails the reluctantly cross-dressed vibe. Kieran's trapped in that space between childhood and adulthood, twenty, disaffected and angry, stuck at home, unemployed, and hanging out with the wrong crowd. Now his long-suffering older sister has some dirt on him, and what starts as a bit of fun at a family Halloween party unexpectedly escalates into a job offer and working life--as a woman. It's not the life Kieran wants (or so he says) but can he escape his sister's machinations?
Hoping to start writing this one in a few weeks.
