Thanks for the feedback! Almost instantly after posting, I had serious doubts about the chapter--felt the pacing was off, or didn't give enough voice to Julia. I'm still not pleased with it and am considering some major rewriting, but it's good to know some of what I'm trying for is getting through.

I didn't expect to be feeling sorry for Julia as shes trying to inflict punishment on David, but you've done a great job writing her and as she tries to hurt David you've opened her up as a genuinely relatable and sympathetic, albeit deeply damaged, person. Now I'm looking forward to as well as dreading the rest of the Julia story.
