Go for it. I encourage doing a Patreon exclusive scene. Also I think once the Interlude is done, you should space out your public releases, maybe to encourage yourself to work on the next chapter. For example, not releasing part 2 until you’re 50% done with the next chapter. By the time part 3 releases to the general public, you’d be done with the next chapter.

The Interlude, originally intended as a short (15k words or so) break in the action, has taken me by surprise. A lot more development of the side characters than I'd planned, but then, it made sense to flesh them out now. With the rest of the story in 1st person, this seemed the best opportunity to see things from a different perspective. (And from a writing point of view, I wanted to try my hand at a longer piece of 3rd person limited style narrative, which I haven't done much of.) I agree that Scooter's turned out a little less pleasant than he first came off - it happened by degrees as I wrote him, but I wanted to show that everything that's going on is affecting the others as well, that there's a wider world of hurt outside of David's understandably limiited scope. I'll have another look at the Chad scene - in part, I wanted to convey a certain irony: David's just said he's come out of a photoshoot where he's come to terms with the idea of giving up control, but then frames the end of the date with Chad as something entirely under his control; and I wanted to suggest there's been progression since the week he's come ot the Clinic, especially following the encounter with Fosters but also as a consequence of his therapy sessions with Crystal. But I can see how it might not entirely convince. And somewhere in the back of my mind, I was striving for a sort of mirroring - the first part of Constant ended with David, thinking his time as Cindy was coming to an end, going all-out in dressing up one last time, and spending some confusing quality time with Harry. In a similar situation - thinking (or rather, hoping) that his time as CIndy is ending, he's gone all-out with the photoshoot, and spent some time with Chad. In both situations, it's possibly a sort of... testing of himself; in a twisted way, doing these things willingly is a way of proving that he's still a man at his core. But I recognize that may not have really come through very clearly. I've toyed with the idea of writing out the scene in full (or even just writing it up as a side piece, a sort of Patreon exclusive kind of thing, which I've never done)--there are some important bits I wanted to cover in the scene, but I've hestiated at typing it up due to the fact the Interlude's already ridiculously long.
