Rival Gym Trainer

Meet McKenzie, Miyuki's gym rival, and a shiny new character!
McKenzie thinks she's better than everyone else, which is a problem, because Miyuki happens to know she is in fact better than everyone else, and so they don't like one another. McKenzie works for a high priced gym that aims for a certain degree of elitism, while Miyuki's gym is a bit more egalitarian (although let's be honest, personal trainers are for people with money, there's no way around that). So she's a bit snooty, and a bit preppy - Miyuki's rather eccentric life doesn't impress her really, and she doesn't think ninjas are real.
Since she's a civilian, Miyuki's not allowed to use violence on her, so the two of them are mostly just jerks to one another. They also try to embarrass one another by tricking each other into public nudity (or just catching the other when it's happening) - they both have problems staying in possession of their clothes, so this is a strangely common occurrence.
Still not 100% on the hair, I kind of want her to be a bit more girlie, so maybe long hair is the play here. Also have not given her a last name yet.
"Gymnotocracy" is not actually a word, although a Gymnosocracy would be a system of government based on nudity.

I'd probably go more this way, honestly - the more I think about it the less sense it makes for anyone to try to bully Miyuki. I mean they might try once, but she'll fight people who mess with her and it's generally not going to be a fight they should expect to do well at. Also, we already have that dynamic with Selena and Stacey, and I want character relationships to be to some degree unique, or at least not just copy one another. Selena grew up in the shadow of her older siblings, so she needs to learn confidence and assertiveness to properly become Quetzalcoatl's champion, and people like Stacey are something she'll have to overcome, (and since she has narrow professional goals they'll keep running into each other). Miyuki is dangerously confident and assertive so having a story element that teaches her to do that again is pointless, but having her get in a silly competition with someone else is entirely in character. What this does do, is give us someone who falls in the far right column of enemies/rivals on Miyuki's public nudity chart who is still someone who won't provoke her into a fight. And that makes sense; if you're in a somewhat friendly professional competition with someone over who's the better gym trainer, you'd probably want to avoid her more than an average person while doing silly dares wearing nothing but a shark hat. Anyway, don't worry too much; she's a work in progress and I haven't even 100% decided what to do with her hair yet.

Miyuki always struck me as mischievous with her sexual harassment, but in a spread-the-sexy oh-don't-worry-I'll-get-naked-too sort of way. Always aimed at her friends, and never really especially mean-spirited. And, if I'm going to be entirely honest, Lygot's storyline is a little mean-spirited for my tastes, and I was getting sick of it dominating so many polls and kinda taking over the Patreon. Maybe once in a while, but almost every time? Miyuki getting her own Stacey-esque rival was not exactly something I was clamoring for. It just seems like you trying to do MORE of the storyline I've already tired of, just with Miyuki getting to be the main character again... while doing things that just don't seem very Miyuki-ish. *sigh* Maybe I'm taking it too seriously, but I'm giving my thoughts. I'm really not into the stripping-out-of-spite angle.

2023-05-26 13:37:57 +0000 UTCYou should give her Chun-Li/Sailor Moon style hair buns if you want her to have a “girlie” hairstyle while still fitting her personality… because upper class gym white gym ladies definitely think they can wear that hair because it’s “sporty” and don’t see a problem with it but Miyuki would see it and be all like “really?!”
