I took two things away from this. 1. White people get chances and have money. $400k "that was all of our savings" like we were supposed to feel empathetic. $400K in savings in the 80s??? Heck even today, is a lot of to have saved. Black folks will work three jobs and die working and never have that much saved. White folks and their generational wealth and opportunties... 2. I am NOT nostalgic for the video store. I like not having to put on clothes and weather the rain to get a movie.
