I feel like the whole rental property argument had too much input from two people who obviously don’t own rental properties (and maybe aren’t even homeowners). What Kev said was right. I have a fairly decent rental property built in 2005. In 2019 I had a tenant who had been there for 8 years move out. I spent almost $5k replacing carpet, paint, updating systems, fixing little things... Only to have one tenant move out after 2 months and the property to get flooded after the 3rd tenant of 2019 moved in. They are good investments, but sometimes you just don’t feel like dealing with the 💩 You have to feel like doing it. I feel like it, but I’m not putting down anyone who doesn’t. And, again, if you’ve never bought and MAINTAINED (there is a difference, because some people buy houses they can’t afford to maintain) house the first, tread lightly.
