I have been WAITING for you to start this. And if you love a man in black? He is THE man. Much more serious and darker than Hidden Love. Which caught me by surprise but I really loved the story arc. And their chemistry is chef's kiss. Can't wait to see your reactions.

2025-03-18 18:39:32 +0000 UTCThe dramas are both based on novels and this novel was definitely darker than hidden love. It is probably attributed to the different perspectives, with sang zhi, we are introduced to sang yan as her older brother and given their age gap it is possible that she is not exposed to other sides of his personality. I mean in hidden love when he is in university she is still in middle school (if I remember correctly) and so she was probably still in primary school when he was in high school and therefore may not have had much of an idea of his life at that time. Whilst in this novel we see sang yan outside of just his family and maybe more of his personality. When it first aired, there were some hidden love fans who had difficulty accepting the change in casting and overall tone of the show, but I think when compared to the novel the perspective the drama is in line with what the author intended. I hope you continue to enjoy the series!
