Elias and the girls future.
Added 2025-02-11 02:57:41 +0000 UTCAs I mentioned earlier, I'm way too tired to write right now, so the chapter will go live tomorrow. However, I wanted to get these polls out of the way so I can start making the changes moving forward.
This poll will focus on what you all prefer for the future of the MC and his (future) harem. I know for a fact that many people dislike reading about the MC joining a peerage, so I want to settle this before Elias meets Rias in the future.
Personally, I don’t have strong feelings about it, so whether Elias joins will depend on public opinion. It would be a nice power-up, but realistically, he has the Grimoire, so he doesn’t need it much.
However, the girls are a different matter entirely. While Elias might get lucky and obtain something he can share, I’d rather avoid handpicking perks for the story. That said, the power-up and longevity will be useful for Iris and Hermione, as well as any other HP girls who may or may not join in the long run.
For now, and in the foreseeable future, only Iris and Hermione will be in a serious relationship with Elias. However, they might allow other girls to join in for some fun while keeping things light. Ginny and Luna are potential candidates for that, while Fleur will likely become a part of his group down the line—because, really, who doesn’t love her?
So yeah, here’s the poll!

I mean, what's the problem with creating original feathers? And why not use Seekvaira? What's the problem with creating bonds with her that will overcome her pragmatism? Honestly, this pursuit of "the best results" is annoying, similar to all that waifu collecting.

2025-02-11 08:03:51 +0000 UTCAs for the devil girl, what's the problem with creating an original female character?

2025-02-11 07:16:11 +0000 UTCOh shit, I was hoping at least this fic wouldn't be about ruining Issei's canon story. Especially since it literally leaves Iris and Hermione behind. Like, as a DxD fan, it upsets me. I was really hoping that if Rias and the gang showed up, it would be a parallel storyline and their role would be as allies. At the very least, they could just do a canon development storyline from Rias's perspective. But you're saying that this is essentially a fanfic about replacing Issei? Why?

2025-02-11 07:14:46 +0000 UTCRias was planned to be a female lead since the beginning of the fic, and that won’t change. But… it’s not like they will become devils right now or anything like that. He will use the devil summoning because he needs to learn more about the world, that will be his main focus going forward. He learnt that the world is way more dangerous than what he thought and he needs to fix that before continuing. He doesn’t know how/why the wizards as a whole are ignorant and blah blah. I don’t plant to forget the wizarding world, they still need to complete the storyline there. Also, the first devil is won’t be rias, obviously. But he “knows” of her, and after some investigation, he will see that she is the same as her canon counterpart, and Rias is 1-beautiful. 2- helpful by a lot. 3- well connected. 4-will treat them right. 5- has a heart of gold for her peerage. Unlike sona, seekvaira who are pragmatic as fuck and won’t show many feelings that can be used to obtain better results. The only other option would be riser, and that’s a no go because he is an ass, or Sai, who was his own problems and his peerage is nearly full. I’m not even going to explain why Diodora is out and Latia is meh, I don’t know enough about her.

2025-02-11 06:11:53 +0000 UTCWhy are you fixated on Rias? It could be any devil that Elias can interact with. Rias can be a good friend, but I personally am wary of turning her into another waifu for the collection. Honestly, I don't understand why there is a rush to become a first when you can start as a contract mage and leave the transformation into a devil as a backup option for survival. For example, evil figures can resurrect. This is literally a reset point for situations where someone can die. At the same time, the number of reincarnations is limited to one time. Honestly, I am a little nervous about the possibility of changing Rias's canon group for the sake of reincarnation. In addition, this can remove this element of exploring a new world, when in fact all the important information will be dumped on Elias at once, rather than him studying it piece by piece. In addition, he currently has a biased view of devils and it would be strange if in one chapter he did not understand anything and had a bias based on fan fiction, and in another chapter he acted opposite to his early bias. To be honest, I thought he would summon the devil by accident and not on purpose.

2025-02-11 04:55:37 +0000 UTCChanging the race is allowed in the Grimoire, but I dont feel like handpicking it. He might get lucky, so who knows. And yeah, I know a lot of readers dislike the mc joining a peerage, even more so when the mc doesnt need it since he has a nice power.

2025-02-11 03:30:44 +0000 UTCThose are some good points. Let me explain my view of the Grimoire to give some context: I feel like the Grimoire, being an out-of-context item, doesn’t affect Elias’s value when we talk about Evil Pieces. But his perks do affect that. For example, being a cryomancer made him more expensive, but still manageable—for now, at least. As for the girls joining, it won’t matter much because if they do join Rias’s peerage, Elias, who WILL be in a relationship with her, will be close by. As for the low fertility, that’s something they’ll enjoy, lmao. But in the future, he could (and will) get some “nice” perks from a Grimoire focused on things like that, and manipulating fertility isn’t that groundbreaking, so I can handpick it for him if needed.

2025-02-11 03:29:09 +0000 UTCI 100% agree. It would be one thing if he unlocks a devil lineage and starts his own peerage but I see no reason for him to want to serve under Rias.

2025-02-11 03:21:53 +0000 UTCI lean towards him not being part of a peerage, but that just doesn't make any sense if the girls do and he doesn't. With the exceptions of either the Evil Pieces determining his potential makes him too expensive, or he rolls something that makes his actual value too high. First, the Celestial system is just too juicy for any devil to overlook him as a potential member. Second, in line with the first, the King and peerage would potentially benefit from any power sharing, as well. Thirdly, much more distantly, the girls joining but not him does create some separation between them, and the girls reincarnating means there will already be potential difficulties when it comes to conceiving (low Devil birthrates). Lastly, he and his harem are shaping up to be potential disruptions/outsiders to British Wizarding culture, already. So moving to Devil society as reincarnates is either a lateral shift, or improvement depending on how things shape up.
