Ultramarine Armor painted in 5 min? Yes! Sponge Method

Hello, incredible Wizards of Mamikon's Patreon!

In this week's video tutorial, I will show you how to speed paint Ultramarine Armor with a sponge in under 5 minutes. Yes, it's possible and it will look great!

Here is the list of paints used:

1) White for the basecoat if you want some elements to be white, like the strip of white in the middle of our Dreadnought's shoulder pad.

2) Black for the basecoat of the areas that are supposed to be blue later. We will also use white to add some shading.

3) Macragge Blue.

4) Calgar Blue.

5) Fenrisian Grey.

Here is the older video tutorial with sponge stippling:

Thank you very much for supporting me – it means the world to me! I dream of being able to paint and make tutorials full time, so if you like my Patreon – please tell your friends about it. It would make a massive difference to me and hopefully it will be beneficial for your friends too :)

*Layer consistently = paint mixed in a 1:1 ratio with water.

*Glaze consistently = paint mixed in a 1:3 ratio with water.

Best wishes,

Mamikon

Hi Rhuari! This is called a weathering sponge I think but it’s not as effective as this other tool I’ve been sent recently - I will be making the future sponge tutorials with it and I’ll tell you where you can buy it soon.

Hey Mamikon, this might sounds stupid but what are you using to hold your sponge on the last weathering part? It looks like some sort of handheld clip/weathering stick? I have mixed luck when trying to just used a piece of ripped sponge with tweezers
