Ulrik The Slayer in Terminator Armor Conversion

Hi, you wonderful miniature painting maniacs whom I love!

Today, I want to start a series of posts about the process of converting a awesome model - a Ulrik The Slayer in Terminator Armor. Here is how it has started:

First, I got the original Ulrik the Slayer model and the new Terminator Captain from the Leviathan Starter Set and started cutting and sanding! It was quite a complicated conversion process, as I've had to cut very precisely and carefully, to avoid messing up small details that need to stay, but at the same time, removing other parts that I wanted gone. For example the helmet of this model is held by the original miniature in his left hand. So I've had to carve out the details on the bottom and the side of the helmet in order for it to look like a separate helmet.

Next, I started thinking about the position. This guys is so cool, it does not really matter if he is dynamic or static - he will be cool either way! But in the end, I've decided to go for the classic, static, imposing pose, inspired by the original model and some older Golden Demon winning pieces, especially this one:

This piece has always been in my heart as it is truly fantastic. It was done by the great David Rodríguez - a legendary Spanish painter.

So with the pose sorted, it is time to think about the other hand and what (if anything) to put in it. I will either leave it open, like he is going "WHAT?! YEAH I JUST BASHED THIS SCREAMER KILLER TO DEATH WITH MY CRUZIUS!". The second option is to put a open book in his hand, like he is casting a spell and calling for a great snow storm/blizzard!

If you have an opinion on this - please let me know!

This is it for this update!

All the best to you all!
