Very well put. This is who we were. This and Dazed and confused pretty much sum it up.

Great reaction David! Fun fact! Tatum O' Neal who played Amanda is the young actress who beat Linda Blair (The Exorcist) in the Best Supporting Actress category during the 1974 Oscars for the film PAPER MOON. At the age of 10, she became the youngest person to ever win a competitive Oscar!

Hey, this was the movie I recommended on the live stream and you spun the wheel and it popped up. lol This was rated PG (there was no such thing as PG13 back then) and I saw this in the theater when I was 11. Believe it or not, this was considered at the time a family/kids movie, but the 70s were just a wild and fun decade, including movies like this with the language and subject matter that would shock folks today. They didn’t have the term GenX back then, but this was one of the first movies where you really saw how GenX kids lived. The parents were boomers, but those kids were wild roaming the streets GenX. The 70s was just the absolute craziest but funnest decade - I am SO lucky to have been a kid then. One thing in hindsight that stands out to me is that decades before they were talking about diversity in movies, this movie had EVERYONE in it. Like that one kid pointed out several times in a way you never could repeat today…that team checked off all the boxes. But none of it was forced. There wasn’t this nameless executive who was making sure the writer and director tossed in a couple of Mexicans, a Jew, and make the pitcher a girl…because you know…diversity. It made sense because that’s how you tell a story about a bunch of misfit kids from all backgrounds who came together to play baseball. Agree solid 4 out of 5. I’m glad you enjoyed it.

The dirt bike kid Kelly is played by Jackie Earle Haley. He played Rorschach in Watchmen and Freddy in the Nightmare on Elm St remake.
