Fire-Related Update
Added 2025-01-11 00:08:51 +0000 UTCHey, everyone. So, as some of you may know, I live in Southern California, which is currently on fire. My parents’ house has been destroyed to its foundations, along with much of my hometown. Thankfully, my parents were able to get out a few hours before the fire reached their street, and they’re staying here with me a couple miles outside of the current evac zone. My building is okay for now.
It’s a surreal thing, writing erotica in a crowded apartment while watching ash rain from the sky and crossing my fingers that my neighborhood doesn’t get the next alert to run. Or at least, the next legitimate alert to run — we’ve already been through two false alarms from glitches in the emergency warning system. But as with so many disasters, most of the time is made up of waiting, hoping, and trying to feel normal. At this moment, I have my devices, and my wifi, and I mean to use them how I can.
I realize this isn’t a sexy update, and the doom and gloom of current events is definitely not what people come to me for. I generally like to keep my content a fun escape, and fear not, I will continue to do so. Believe me, I need it as much as anyone.
I just wanted to let people know that, if my content is a little sparser this month, it’s because I’m checking go-bags, cooking comfort food for a crowd, and possibly pausing for the occasional interlude of existential horror, not because I’ve forgotten you, and probably not because I’m dead :)
