Video: Death Korps of Krieg
Added 2024-05-12 22:29:43 +0000 UTCHello everyone, here is the latest video on the Death Korps of Krieg. I know it's been a bit quiet here recently however I have been working on recording a lot of footage for videos on the way very soon.
Plasma is next followed by Golden Demon Part 1 - See the end of the video for a sneaky peek at what's to come there.
Hope you are all having a great weekend!
- Dave
*Edit - Apologies for the late upload, it has taken Patreon the entire day to process the video

This video is golden for my upcoming Krieg project. I hope you can answer questions on older videos, David: what would you consider it to be the AK equivalent of stegadon scale green? Thanks in advance.

2024-11-30 12:38:58 +0000 UTCGreat result as always. Any tips for assembly of the sub-assemblies after painting. I always struggle especially with two arms going across the body, glueing three points together is tricky... perhaps a quick video ;)

2024-06-05 11:51:26 +0000 UTCI think the format is spot on. One of the reasons I like your content is that it’s very clear and to the point. As a painter watching painting videos, I want to see minis being painted. I’m not interested in the “talking heads” format that many YouTube channels go for, including the seemingly mandatory use of coloured background lighting and edgy music coupled with a click-bait title and thumbnail. I know it’s tough fighting the “algorithm” and all that so I understand why people are doing it but personally I’d like all painting vids to be like yours 👌✨ One cam (4K) on the mini and one on the palette coupled with soft music and relevant commentary on what’s happening on screen. Keep on keeping on ✨

2024-06-05 11:30:56 +0000 UTCI use Reynolds Parchment paper because I find it to be very reliable but there's a lot of different ones that will work :)

2024-06-05 11:10:27 +0000 UTCI found SAGA cooking paper. Comes already in sheets (33 x27cm) and it's white and has the silicone coating that does the pooling. Took a bit of digging to find it, it's made for the industry. edit: I think i did't properly reply , but I'll leave it here.

2024-06-03 13:01:37 +0000 UTCDo you have a brand of baking parchment you always use? I've tried a couple of supermarket ones, but they're either brown (eco-friendly unbleached paper) or they don't work very well.

2024-05-16 22:24:37 +0000 UTCThanks for demystifying 😉 Yeah, I also use baking/parchment paper to get the pooling. The paper that comes with the Red Grass palette almost seem to absorb the paint 🙌

2024-05-16 10:43:26 +0000 UTCAh yes I dilute the paint using the water on the brush, usually after any colour mixing is done. Unfortunately the camera is in a fixed position and this isn't easily shown. Also I do use baking parchment instead of the usual palette paper and this can change how the paint behaves.

2024-05-16 10:40:44 +0000 UTCGreat stuff as always Dave! One thing I've noticed is that your paints seem to get instantly diluted just by you swirling them around on the palette 😅 At about 10:03 for example, when mixing the first highlight for the overcoat, you come in with the brush (which also seem to have a bit of white/grey already in it?), pick up some Stegadon and start swirling it around on the palette (which incidentally already has some paint on it). While doing so, you can see by the way the paint behaves on the pallette that it becomes quite diluted. Did you have some water in the brush coming in? Was the Stegadon already diluted or what's going on? I've seen this phenomenon in most of your videos and I haven't been able to figure it out 🙌 You just take some paint from one place on the palette and move it to another place and it seems to get dilluted automagically. This does not happen for me. I have to put some paint down on the palette and then add some water.
