Ren here, reporting from the new studio! The transition has been a bit of a journey, filled with the expected chaos of moving, but here I am, excited to share this new map pack with you all. The struggle has been real, but despite the nagging impostor syndrome, I believe the progress in my maps is evident, especially looking at the latest city road I've crafted. I truly hope you find its aesthetic as captivating as I do!
About the map.
This map captures a lengthy path that's destined to be traversed by a procession of wagons and caravans. Why, you ask? Well, many a time, I've encountered scenarios where caravans line up for security and to make the journey more efficient. However, for added flexibility, I'm also providing blank versions of each scenario (Town, Road, and River Crossing), enabling you to employ the map for diverse purposes. A line of wagons stands ready as a token for everyone, while Adventurers will receive individual carts along with several interior variations to explore.
The map's strategic options aren't overly abundant. Though you can utilize the wagons, the town map features narrow roads, the path map introduces trees along the forest entry, and an ambush opportunity arises if players halt by the bridge for navigation or a shore pause.
Now, onto a little plot hook for this map: The town is in high spirits, bedecked in vibrant hues, as they revel in the caravans' passage. This section of the city is usually off-limits to traders, barring one week each year when a festival commemorates the overthrow of a dictatorship that once sought to shackle and isolate the town. During this week, festoons of colorful decorations grace the streets, and the town gears up to warmly welcome the caravans on their circumnavigation, passing through "Submission Street," a road now renamed "Victory Road" by the Mayor in an attempt to erase the shadows of the past.
Here you stand, on a road that only opens annually for this event. The jubilant townspeople cheer, throwing flowers and treating you like heroes... until, abruptly, the entire line of carts grinds to a halt as something obstructs the path. Little time remains to ponder this, for citizens loyal to the former leadership surge from the sidelines, assaulting the caravans. With the rest of the citizens swiftly shuttering windows and doors, it's now up to you to ensure the road's reputation remains untarnished.
