Meeting

It was supposed to be a business meeting about a publishing project. But when Stacey walked in with hunched shoulders and a glum look, I said, “Tough day?” She nodded as she slumped onto my fuzzy sofa.

Stacey wasn’t a model. We had met only once before at a talk given by her boss at a photography event. We had chatted afterwards and decided to meet to discuss publishing something, as that was her area of expertise.

After chilling in silence for a few minutes she looked up and asked, “Any wine?”

I went to the kitchen to get a bottle and couple glasses. When I got back she was standing by the wall looking at the over dozen black and white art prints from my “Body as Temple” series that were framed and hanging in my studio. She came back to the sofa as I poured us some cabernet.

After sipping a glass and a little listless small talk, Stacey stood up, took off all her clothes and dropped them behind the sofa. Then she stretched out, caressing the soft fabric of the sofa.

It didn’t look like we would be discussing business today. I fetched two C-stands, set up my lights, and started shooting. Here are a few of the bodyscapes we created.
