Yoga Flow with Natasha
Added 2021-07-27 18:46:31 +0000 UTCNatasha is a very sweet and unassuming yoga teacher from Santa Monica, California. A gymnast when she was young, she now teaches strong Vinyasa Flow yoga classes. Living in Southern California she has become friends with many of the well known yoga teachers in the area.
When she heard her friends Caley, Miki and Sophie were coming to my studio to do a nude shoot her curiosity was peaked. She called and asked if she could tag along.
All three of her friends have been in multiple magazines and ads and were used to being in front of the camera. But Natasha had never done a professional shoot, nor any art nudes. At first she sat on the sidelines and watched her friends create cool acro-yoga poses. After a while she worked up the courage to take off her clothes too and join them in a few of the poses.
Initially she was self conscious and hesitant, as was to be expected. But it soon became evident that she was having a lot of fun. I let her review the photos on the back of my camera as we shot and she marveled at how good she looked. It boosted her confidence.
At the end of the shoot she came over and asked if she could schedule a shoot just for herself. It was during this follow-up solo shoot that we created the photos you see here.
One of the most rewarding things about the work I do is seeing people get more confident when they view beautiful photos of themselves. In our culture unfortunately too many women grow up feeling negative about how they look. A good photo shoot helps put things in perspective. They start to accept and like how they look. It lets them appreciate how good their yoga practice is.
