Color me wild

Some friends of mine had opened a wholistic health clinic in Santa Monica and were celebrating its one year anniversary. I met Suki at the celebration.
We were both admiring the soothing water sounds of the feng shui water fountain that greeted the guests as they enter. As we chatted we observed how the rest of the clinic was quintessentially California too, with incense wafting in the air, crystals hanging in the windows, and beautiful little Buddha statues adorning the counters.
She particularly liked a black and white nude art print on one of the walls. When I told her it was one of my photographs, she thought I was being a smart ass and pulling her leg. But one of the owners, who was passing by with a tray of steaming tea cups, confirmed that was indeed true. “Yup, see that signature? That is Jasper you are talking to!”
She was embarrassed that she had doubted me but I put her at ease, and we continued chatting. A week later she showed up at my studio to shoot herself.
I loved the brilliant color she had dyed her hair (and the highly unusual choice for the ink on her torso!). I decided to create brightly colored images to go with that hair.
