Re: The puritanical hellscape

As you may have heard, various sites that previously supported adult content are now clamping down on it. This is due to payment processors changing their terms of service, likely as a result of lobbying from various puritanical groups.

Needless to say, it's a very scary time for anyone working on NSFW projects.

For example, last week Gumroad completely purged all adult content from their marketplace with less than 24 hours of warning. This has obliterated the revenue streams of several thousand adult artists, 3D modellers, avatar creators, and more.

Patreon, around Christmas time, banned ABDL/Babyfur content. As of a few days ago, they have now banned weight-gain/Fatfur content too. It's highly likely that other fringe kinks will soon be on the chopping block as well.

Currently, it's unclear what the changing landscape means for FOXXX specifically. Obviously, the game contains weight-gain content, and I have no intention of removing it. Due to the game being hosted elsewhere and project files not being distributed through Patreon itself, there may be a layer of obfuscation that prevents the project from breaching Patreon's updated Terms of Service.

Ideally, being text-based and hosted elsewhere, Patreon will not find any issues with the game. I'll continue working towards the release date in August without incident, and after the project is done, I'll consider whether to remain on Patreon or move future work somewhere else.

That being said, there are a number of options for if Patreon does nuke this page. Including, but not limited to:

• Moving the fundraising for this project to an adult-centric Patreon alternative like 'Subscribestar.adult'.
• Bringing FOXXX into early access on Itch and Steam, and moving to a single-purchase model on both of those storefronts. (I don't know how viable this is financially, but it may be an option).

Rest assured, regardless of what happens, I will continue working on FOXXX and making other adult games as well.
