GameDev Log #1(idk i lost track)

Hey yall its been a while since I've done one of these, I like to do them as often as I can but usually there's not much for me to talk about so I wait till I have a lot, however if you wanna hear me ramble about the game you're free to join the discord since I like to give mini updates there that don't warrant a post, anyway time for the post!

As for the games themselves I have great news! The gallery Re-haul is finally here along with some bug updates you guys have been looking forward for!

It works like other game galleries, you'll unlock the images are the game progresses but you guys can just put in a code that'll unlock the pictures, the gallery isn't exactly how I wanted and putting pictures for the gallery is still gonna be a pain in my ass but that's just because the earlier photos of the game are all over the place lol.

I am gonna port the gallery rehaul to OurFrozenHearts but right now DTF is the priority, so expect to see it in the next week or whenever the day two update comes out.

On the bright I feel confident with the gogile functions, one thing that always bothered me about the game is there's really nothing to do and you guys have no clue about anything going on in the world besides the occasional lines from a few characters and gogile aims to change that.

For example you'll get the options to unlock things like this or this, the way I plan on doing this is coins but the gameplay mechanic is buggy so back to the drawing board for it.

I did have to stop work on it for a while just cause I got overwhelmed, but now that the harder parts of the game are done (like fixing bugs), I can start work on that again so I'll give out the occasional teaser, expect to see some of my (pixel)drawings!

As for the chat itself I am hoping it's better, some changes were made in an attempt to fix it so let me know if you guys still have problems. I am at least hoping it'll stop the crashes some of you guys have been getting. As for my favorite part of the coming update....

To finally wrap up the Game Log part of this post, Felicia is finally coming back in chapter 12.

Oh hey its me the dev, I don't really know what I'm suppose to put here sometimes tbh but I guess I'll talk about personal progress, Actually I'm gonna ramble about the chapters and just talk about random stuff related to the game and me.

Starting off I wanna say that prior to chapter 4, I had the same "format" the chapters followed and I think thats why they were so easy to make but I noticed in the later chapters I try newer formats and because I'm experimenting I take longer sometimes or I'll end up writing a lot, normally writing a lot isn't an issue but I forget to add pictures so I can "see" where to go.

The problem lately is I add pictures after the story is 70%-90% and I'm not sure how it is for others but for me I hate doing that, I'm not saying I just start writing with no plan, I have an idea of where I want the chapter to go but the second I add pictures I'm like "wait maybe I should do this" and that's where the main problem comes from adding pictures after the story is done.

Luckily I did get myself a tablet to draw on, so I'll start writing storyboards on it and see if that makes the whole progress faster, I'm still gonna try a new occasional format or switch things up but I'm generally content with how my writing style is for now.

Don't worry i'm not gonna follow a format exactly, because that's just not realistic (for me), me and writing have been together almost my whole life so I feel confident when I say this kind of stuff, Drawing and Coding aren't my strong suit but writing is.

I forgot to mention in the game log but once I think the chat bug is completely gone and I'm getting the game out of the demo because it no longer feels like one besides the bugs themselves.

Honestly that's about it for this post I could talk about other stuff but I feel those warrant their own posts and I think I've written long enough already, anyway I know yesterday I said the update was gonna come out that day but I fell asleep, so expect it today or tomorrow assuming everything is working lol.

Expect felicia in chapter 12 and the next patreon chapter, I like writing the other characters but we're all here for felicia, so felicia i shall write!
