It’s honestly very simple why they don’t take photos with fans. If they say yes to 1 or 2 or 3 fans that will escalate quickly, EVERYONE will want one too. Army will find out where they are and will search to find them to try to get photos too. That would create a mob everywhere they go and will become dangerous to not only bts, but the fans and local people there.

I know they’ve already mentioned all the reasons why BTS don’t take photos with fans, and it can be disappointing for them in the moment. But Branden, even without photos, they left in the episode the fact that they met him and had a chat with him. I think that’s even better than a photo! The explanation why Jhope always said (and also other members) say "no pictures. important business" it's because the fandom became too big, and when people take pictures and leak online, it spoils the content & location they have been filming, which was supposed to be a surprise. Before 2021, BTS never took pictures with army in the wild. also because army can gather, and create a crowd and disrupt the shoots and local traffic. These are the few reasons, just for Seb to understand, since Bon Voyage Hawaii was shot in 2017. Bon Voyage 4 (New Zealand) was highly praised, because no army took photos or leaked BTS members locations, so they and the crew could travel and freely film their content. Army worldwide was really appreciative of Kiwi armys. Jhope use the phrase as a fun reminder to army, it's for health and safety reasons, and to make the content a surprise for army worldwide (as we don't know where BTS is filming around the world) :)

Think it as: "actors filming a movie" they cannot take pictures with the fans. They would spoiled the movie or it could get leak the location of film, that can cause chaos lol. Even tho they are on "vacation" bts is working, they are preparing this content, they get filmed all day by the crew and cannot give spoilers, bc as soon a "fan photo" gets uploaded, army can guess their location and think they are filming something special to be release in a bit.

If fans take pictures of BTS while filming content to release in the future it can ruin many things and fans online can flood their location endangering BTS. Fans now if they see BTS in public they wait a few weeks before speaking about it so they keep the location secret and the boys can enjoy their personal time. Taehyung actually went back to hawaii multiple times and when he got back he thanked ARMY for not putting it up online that they recognized him. Don't be frustrated with BTS denying picture requests. There's always a bigger reason

I'm a bit late so someone has probably already answered but the picture thing isn't specific to bts, it's more of a kpop thing than a bts thing. the 'important business' joke is just the way bts chose to poke fun at it but they really aren't allowed to, it's very rare you'll ever see kpop idols in fan selfies that aren't at pre-arranged fan meet ups. i do get where seb's coming from, it is annoying but it's not up to bts, it's more of a kpop industry rule not to take pictures with fans on the street.

It’s probably a company policy to ensure that there are no spoilers as these things are filmed sometimes a year in advance. They take plenty of pictures now and give autographs when they are walking around in their private life. I think they were not allowed to contractually.

Someone just tried to break into jk’s home again .. you are more likely to get them to sign something than take a photo of you encounter them in the wild

It's hard with photos because if they take even one photo with someone, if they decline the next person, that person might feel badly and think "Well they took a photo with this person, why not with me?", you know? That's what JK said with gifts as well, they stopped accepting gifts at a certain point because some fans felt badly that a member would wear something a fan gave them but they didn't wear what that person sent. Also, if that person takes a photo and posts it immediately, obviously people would know where they are at that moment and it's hard to film a reality show with crowds of fans around. It's something the company asked of them I'm sure. They've taken photos with fans on their free time, as well as will sign things at restaurants and stuff on their way out.

They aren't allowed to take pictures for the boys safety. If they took photos and they were posted online then their location would be leaked and stalkers and crazy fans will swarm them. My theory with the no picture thing is that, they’re filming this show. This is not released yet. This couldve been released few month or a year later. The company had it written into the show contracts at the time that they weren't allowed to take photos with people. The kpop industry has a big problem with sasaeng (stalker) fans who will follow idols around (last night, JK's house was broken into). On the other hand, in a recent televised show when j-hope was in LA, he stopped and took photos with absolutely loads of fans. So I think it's a personal preference thing for them now that all their contracts have been renegotiated.

Random photos with fans could reveal locations, activities, or key parts of the trip... . Privacy & Safety – Since they’re traveling abroad, the members need space and security. Taking fan pictures during shooting could cause crowding or safety risks. Authenticity of the Show – Bon Voyage is meant to capture BTS’s natural, everyday travel moments. If they stop often to take pictures, it disrupts the flow and the “realness” of the experience. 4. Management Guidelines – BigHit/Hybe usually instructs both BTS and fans not to share details until official content is released, to protect the project. So it’s not that BTS don’t want to take pictures with fans, but more because of production, safety, and privacy reasons

i believe they need to decline the pic because they won't know if people will post them right away and not only give away their location which could leads to more fans showing up, but it would potentially also give away that they are filming and creating new content for us, which could spoil the entire surprise. example... who knew they had prepared so many documentaries /shows ahead of their military service, so you never felt like they were even gone, cuz new things constantly came out to entertain us. Like in this episode they did make an effort to at least learn his name, have a chat and who know what else behind the scenes. There are those armys that waited until Are we sure came out before posting shots they got, but not everybody is like that. We all know there is never ill intend behind anything BTS says. And they would never just say important business as joke. While i agree that phrase sounds weird to us, i am sure it is not meant in a bad way.

I watch every content you guys upload, and i say it with the utmost respect, I dont think long content like in the soop, or bon voyage is content that I can enjoy fully because of the constant talking. You´ve excused yourselves before and I know you´re trying really hard, but there isnt a minute someone is talking over them and seriously you´re missing out on a lot of their interactions by talking about where you´re going, what you did yesterday, if you like fishing or not..its seriously hard for you to learn fully about their dinamics if you dont listen. Im pretty sure you guys enjoy their content, but are you really paying attention? Cole seems to be the one who is more aware of whatever is going on, and tends to keep to himself, and if he wants to talk he pauses, but Seb tends to create chaos often and it all goes downhill from there. Seb, I agree, Waikiki is very touristy, the beach is always crowded with tourists. But there is also the North Shore which is not as busy and also lovely. That being said, my husband and I always stay in Waikiki when we go to HI. We are not beach people, some years, we don't even go to the beach. Waikiki for us is a place where we don't need a car to get around because their bus service is awesome. Restaurants within walking distance. We go for the weather, it beats shovelling snow in the winter. LOL

also, stalking culture in korea is quite stark compared to the west. stalking laws are so leniant, so koreans fans QUITE literally will fly airport to airport, wait outside their military bases, stalk family members, call bts' actual phone numbers during their livestreams to confirm whether its their actual number or not, and even have attempted breaking into the members' homes. jin actually got injected with a substance due to a woman posing as a nurse in his military base. and i havent even really gone into most of it. bts themselves literally never, EVER post their locations, or their vacations, until maybe a month later, to prevent stalking. its very common in korea so idols typically go to extreme lengths, but i dont think fans are missing out, because bts almost always sign something for the fan

guys the pictures thing is only when bts arent in korea and are abroad and are worried about being mobbed, which is why bts usually sign things instead whenever theyre abroad. theyve taken pictures with people IN korea, during their personal ventures, but pictures with fans reveal locations and fans WILL come to see the guys. thats dangerous for a bon voyage shooting like this. there are countless times though, where bts will sign anything, from napkins to phone cases etc, when theyre traveling, and fans have caught onto this and even only post about their interactions AFTER a couple days to prevent mobbing/crowds, but you have to realise that bts have been mobbed several times, so to have their locations in a photo, at risk of being posted online, WITHOUT an security guards, its a massive risk. they always take photos whenever they have can during events with security though, or places that are quite busy anyway

they can´t take pictures with random fans because first it would draw attention to bts and more people would come up to take pictures it happened in LA last year when hobi was working on hos solo songs. and it will spread online like wildfire and stalker fans would follow them around the city and know where they are staying. that is why they dont do it on bon voyage. plus this show is surpose to be a secret before it comes out so it would be big spoilers of the show. but they do take pictures with fans if you meet them in their free time or when the situation is calm enough. but most of the time it is also to protect bts if someone claim to date them based on one picture, it has happened before and i also think korean fans is more jealous of their artist dating. it can become a scandal like you may have witness yesterday with jimin. an actress posted a video of her and jimin meeting at an elevator they didn´t kiss or hug or anything just greeted friendly liek they knew eachother well, but somehow it became a huge drama. today the korean media have denied them dating, and said it was the actress who is known to cause dating rumors with other famous people including jimin. so she could just have known jimin back in 2021 when the video was talken but she wanted people to think she dated him. that is the rumors she keeps making and people are mad. jimin should be allowed to date anyone he likes but she posted the video without his permission. if he was dating her he could have made a statement confirming it and it would have been fine but there was silence so we can assume he didn´t date her or if he did it was a long time ago since she could have posted new videos of them instead of the old one from 2021 based on jimin clothes at the time.

****PLEASE READ**** Think about how many pics are there of BTS and fans online? I'd assume not too many, especially from back then when agency rules were a lot more strict. Most kpop idols are not "allowed" to take pics because that is a part of their company rules. I have seen a few from more recent years but it is when they are on personal time usually alone. I know they would love to but I feel it would set a dangerous precedent for idols if fans thought they could get photos or close to them since they saw someone else doing it. Fanbases for idols are completely different then western culture so being korean, I completely understand. The main objective as a manager or company is to keep their idols safe and be able to anticipate cause and effect even from early stages of being idols. I saw your reaction from the other season when JHope used humor to get out of an awkward situation so I wanted to give some hindsight, and I am positive the boys don't say that because it is humorous- they are trying to still handle it will grace.

Even tae once posted ‘thankyou for pretending not to recognise me’ on Weverse when we have travelling for his own business This isn’t to say they don’t want to have interactions with army in public , armys who do have pictures or autographs with them will post in after they leave the country or the member posts it themselves that they were in the area , this is once again to avoid insane behaviour from stalkers and keeping bts safe

Guys you don't know.... the kpop world is crazy. The invasion of privacy and sasaeng fans are very scary. recently after jungkook's military discaharge a sasaeng try to invade his house. Do you know how scary it is. The agency don't encourage taking picture during official schedule because it attract lots of fans to that place and it's dangerous for the security of the idols.

Bro if they allowed pictures, word will get out to other fans where they are and they’ll get swarmed. Not long ago, Hope was in Cali and accepted pics with people, which was cool. But in no time, word got out in that shopping center and it suddenly got packed. That alone is risky since people then knew the area he was walking around lol. But they have to be cautious in terms of random pics for a vacation trip because they won’t be able to blend in as much. And would probably have to relocate. We ARMYs have an unspoken rule—not to approach the members during their personal time. Still, there have been moments when, if fans are respectful, the members themselves happily take pictures with them. For example, Jungkook was once walking alone in Itaewon, and when ARMYs recognized him and respected his space, he chose to take photos with them. Each member has shared such moments with ARMY. There have been many times when ARMYs saw them during personal trips but chose not to post anything until the members were safely back in Korea. they do not take pictures because many times stalkers find out where they are and stalk them in real time they have been stalkers who find out their hotel in real time if pictures posted online when they are still there they have taken some pictures before but usually tell them to please post it 30 minutes/ an hour later online (when they are gone) but often times it gets posted earlier so they just have a rule no pictures usually and it does suck but I understand because of their safety and just their history with many things happening some of their stalkers are heinous (much worse than you think so that's why they made this rule

BTS is not allowed to take pictures with fans because company forbid them to do so, it's a safety risk in case their location is found online, and this IS important business, they are in the middle of shooting and is considered work.

To add to the spoilers thing, during this time Namjoon had actually posted a screenshot on twitter of something and then he deleted it because it showed the time and fans figured out that he was in Hawaii because of the timezone. I remember in 2017 their company had to issue a statement about not approaching the members while on schedule and to respect their privacy because there were a lot of instances, especially on trips and planes. It's a safety precaution as much as a spoiler issue. Recently Hobi was on a show called I Live Alone and he was staying here in the US for a bit while working and when he went to a market he was stopped by fans and took pictures with them.

I think people in the comments complaining about u guys talking too much need to get a life , stop being so sensitive and learn what fast forwarding means… but anyway to put the picture thing into example, say they gave that guy on the bus a pic and he posts it- obviously that’s gonnna attract a lot of attention and people will start to ask where he saw them , then he gives out the location , crazy fans somehow find where they are staying = trip ruined. The heights BTS stalkers (saesangs) go to is INSANEEEEEEE! It’s risky for them. One upload from that guy, and fans would be out on prowl. and the boys aren’t travelling with bodyguards, from what we can figure out it’s only them and camera crew, anything could go wrong, i know “important business” sound iffy but ARMYs understand that. and i love how actual ARMYs, not the toxic creeps, know not to violate the boys’ space.

Hey Seb, your point is completely valid and yes, it would mean the world to any fan to get a picture with BTS. But the reason they usually don’t take pictures during shows like BY and others is that if those photos get posted online, it could cause huge problems. The place might suddenly get swarmed with ARMY's, the filming could be disrupted, and the boys could end up being followed. Plus, it could affect the experience of locals and tourists who are just there to enjoy their own time. While they do meet fans sometimes along the way, and they are always polite in their interactions, but they still cant take photos because if those photos end up online before the show is released, it creates issues not just for future shoots but also for the confidentiality of the show itself. So, it’s not that the boys are deliberately avoiding pictures or making a running joke out of it, they’re actually being thoughtful about the people around them, the production, and the overall situation.

BTS often say no to pictures during Bon Voyage or official shoots because of safety and company policy. If photos get posted, their location can be exposed, leading to crowds, stalkers, and disruption of filming. They also don’t want content spoiled before release. But when they’re off-camera, countless ARMY have shared how BTS kindly take photos and interact with fans—they’re very humble. In terms of the photos with fans situation, from my understanding, it is a huge safety risk for the guys to take photos with fans. Having their locations shared or known over social media. This was also the era of online threats towards to the guys. On a lesser note, they film a lot ahead of time, and any potential leaking of shooting locations, spoilers etc. isn’t ideal either.
