Initially the organisers as well as the choreographers thought that JK would ONLY sing but he volunteered himself and said that he wanted to dance as well, AFTER reaching the venue. He learnt the routine from the dancers and perfected the choreography in just a few short days, before the ceremony. Put in loads of his own ideas into the performance planning and positioning of dancers. Even though this was his first solo stage and AT A VERY PRESITIGIOUS AND IMPORTANT one at that, he nailed every bit of it. His professionalism both on and off stage was top notch.

Jin, Suga, and Hobi bring up this JK in Jin's Suchwita episode, they also marvel at his professionalism of taking and burning the stage alone with no other members by his side and perfecting it. I also remember back then JK's name mentioned and exceeding far above that of the Brazilian hero Messi's on social media, not to mention the number of dance challenge on YT, it was the hottest thing ever. He willingly put in 2x the amount of work he needed to because he wanted to dance. Jungkook isnt just a singer but he's a performer too, he performs to the best of his abilities whenever he can 🔥🔥

I'm sure older armys remember how much they integrated whales into their content back in the day but not as much these days for some reason so seeing it in the mv was really nice even though it was intended for something else

Since South Koreans are into Football/Soccer too and their national team was participating as well. There are even reels showing the other BTS members reaction to JKs live performance. The dance break was a last minute thing, where JK asked for the choreography in order to join the dancers. If I am not mistaken, he only had one or a couple of days to practice the steps. This performance was one of the first solo performances of JK. Where he expressed that he was very nervous and missed the other members.
