They write their own lyrics and incorporate all their emotions be it bad or happy and deliver an honest message to the world, to marginalised groups, to those who are suffering, those with low self-esteem, those who want to give up. guys, remember that there are 10 years of BTS to catch up on, everyone offers something to watch. give them time to go at their own pace. especially since in a few months the group will be complete they will have to react on the new activities of the members and solo. of course if they do not quickly propose a schedule for the week. they will not get out of it at all. between the army who want to propose their favorites and who propose all the videos they find on the net we are not out of the trough I suggest that they react on the videos found on bangtan tv.

I'm all for you watching explanation videos as well. I've watched so many and it is so helpful because so often even simple translations still don't really give you context because of cultural differences that we may not know. I love explanation videos and I swear the lyricism and wordplay that they create is pure genius. Like there is no better word. So, yes - watch them all. Basically, you will probably never have any ARMY saying - don't watch that BTS content, because it's all good. There's just so much it's hard to keep track. It's been almost 4 years for me and I still haven't made it through all of the Bangtan Bombs and Bangtan Episodes, but I'm close. As always, so fun.

BTS songs are work of genius. You don't have to go into detail explanation for every songs but doing it makes you appreciate the song and them as artist more. They are great performers and you can just appreciate their vocals and rapping and dancing. But you will miss the artistry of their lyrics. In fact, there was an annual BTS Global Conference where scholars gather to discuss and present academic papers related to BTS and their works. I kid you not. 2020 was in London, 2021 I cant remember, 2022 was in Seoul and 2023 was in Kuala Lumpur. That's the power of BTS 😊

Pronunciation of ddaeng (or why it is spelled with a double D): The Korean word ddang (땡) uses three Hangul characters, ㄸ [dd], ㅐ[long A], and ㅇ [ng]. 땡 (ddang) and 댕 (dang) are pronounced differently. The difference is ignored by an English speaker's ear. The double consonant (ㄸ) is pronounced with a short sharp force, like a staccato note. Ddaeng is a banger just to listen to, but as with 95% of BTS's song, the lyrics add a whole other level of artistry. It truly is worth it to always watch a version with lyrics, even if that isn't the official version of something. And for especially complex songs like this, (or Spring Day, BST, Baepsae, and others) also watching an explanation video is needed to really absorb the deep level of artistry and meaning put into the songs.

The lyrics are full of references to history and culture, that I wouldn't have understood otherwise - it's not just looking up a word's meaning. i think it's a great idea to watch explanation videos paired with the music videos or live performances! or even just watching the lyric videos after might help too. Sometimes the melody or the music video can be a bit misleading when it comes to the lyrics or "message" of the song - good examples being RM's Wildflower and also House of Cards.

Loved this reaction! Ddaeng is so beloved by ARMY!! It was released for free on SoundCloud for us one year. I was so excited to see this notification! I've been waiting for you all to start getting more comfortable with reading subtitles while consuming BTS content to start really appreciating the lyricism. I know it can be pretty overwhelming at first to take in a whole performance on stage with all its elements, then the lyrics are just a whole other (in BTS's case at least) complex layer. I think most of their songs are easy to digest and relate to if you read the lyrics and you know them. But I would also say that they have relevant songs that need an explanation video for further appreciation of the genius behind the lyricsm, music, choreography, and mv. The rapline songs are notorious for this. Since the rapline uses double entendres in their pengame. All songs under Bangtan Universe/ "BU" and even the songs with intro, interlude, outro, and Pt. 2 on the title, mainly because of the interrelationship among songs and the references across their discography. Even the genius behind the song title-album relationship and album sequels. Songs like Idol, Anpanman, Spinebreaker, Baepsae, and Go Go, might be some of their hyped, wild, colorful, funniest, and craziest songs at face value, but don't get fooled by it because you might be bopping to some of their highly political and socio-cultural songs and you are clueless about it. This rabbit hole is way far deep than you think and all Armys are still on our own journeys, nobody has seen the end of the tunnel yet. 💜

this is on of the many things that attract me to BTS everything about them is top tier. RM´s wordplay and knowledge in general about korean culture is just genius and it made him become an ambassador of korean art. RM is named the biggest influencer in korean art (paintings and sculptures not music btw) there is a vlog of RM (2 parts) where you follow RM´s one day in his life, from when he wakes up and go to work and come home. it´s very private and relaxing i hope you watch that at some point. idk why it´s my favorite vlog they have made and they each have at least one vlog. so it´s a good way to follow them around and se what they like to do in their free time

I love that you guys watched the explanation of the lyrics to DDAENG. As you watch more of the lyrics of the boys' songs, you will understand that it really is not just the song and performances that BTS are good at but it is how they write the lyrics to their songs. The words are all very powerful. I have been following this DDKTV YT Channel. They have some very good BTS content. I discovered them when the BTS members were announced to be enlisting in the military and they have some really good videos about serving in the military as both of them have served. I am taking courses on how to read and speak Hangeul so this explanation of DDAENG was actually fun for me to watch as I tried to read the Hangeul language in the video.

Ok I just finished the Disney + series BTS: Momuments: Beyond the Star !!!!! Omg!!! Now, they skipped over a LOT of the early stuff (assuming most Army at this point know the early story?!?) But they were THE BEST at covering the years 2018- present!!!! I haven't seen anything else that explains the guys current situation so well- and surprisingly they didn't show any of Festa 2022- they explained it all with really well put together interviews from the guys themselves!!! I’ve seen some recommendations for Are You Sure, but I’d suggest starting with Bon Voyage or In the Soop instead. I think it’s important to get to know all the members at the beginning of your journey💜 you really get to see their friendships and personalities, and since everyone is there, there’s always something happening. Personally, i think its a bit much to take in when you’re trying to watch the mv, listen to the music AND read the lyrics at the same time. So i really didn’t mind you not turning on subtitles most of the time. Explanation videos after the initial reaction to the songs are the best option in my opinion! I think theres songs without those videos available, maybe you could just google the lyrics in those cases :)

Don’t feel pressured to react a certain way. It’s hard to keep up with lyrics and videos at the same time, what you could do is watch the video and then read the lyrics separately after and things you‘re curious abt you can google bc that’s also part of the journey. Do it all in the video! But ppl commenting saying you aren’t as engaged or not reacting overly happy are annoying. As for me I like y’all’s genuine reactions and talking and asking questions which just shows you guys are baby ARMYs and there is so so much to cover. So don’t feel too pressured and also for Seb I noticed he was getting a little heat lately DONT STOP SHARING YOUR LOVE FOR JIMIN!
