Somehow he dragged Jin into it. IT IS SO PAINFULL THAT IT'S HILARIOUS. When I first heard it I just sat in my car laughing in shock. At the explicit/silly lyrics & at how SUPER TERRIBLE it is🤣🤣🤣🤣 You'll love it. It humanizes them. Lol

They also have several Albums in Japanese because they have a huge following there. Most of the members are polyglot. What's REALLY cool is when the songs (these ones being written mostly by RM) have double or triple entendres in 2 languages at once. A prime example being "Ddang" for the multiple uses of the word "Ddang" in both languages. I HIGHLY recommend you watch "Ddang explained by a Korean" by DKDKTV They explain other songs too! Like "Daechitwa, Ugh, ON & Ego."

Second, LYRICS LYRICS LYRICS I know half of the comments here suggest you look more into the lyrics and I wholeheartedly concur. I know it's not the easiest thing to do, because the truth is most of us do not spend a lot of time listening to music in another language. It's awesome that you are first drawn to their music alone, that is certainly the core, and absolutely what drew me in as well. But, then one day I finally said to myself, "I guess you should find out what they are saying" even though I had just been listening for weeks. I can promise you, as has been encouraged multiple times here, you will not regret putting in that extra effort to examine the lyrics. We all love the music, the dancing, the visuals, but the lyrics bring everything to a whole new level of appreciation for just how AMAZING they are. No one will mind longer videos where you do this, in fact, everyone will enjoy watching you gain that appreciation. Having said that, not everyone cares as much about lyrics and really only listens to music for the music, so while of course you are missing out on SO MUCH if you don't, this is your journey & you are certainly allowed to enjoy music the way you choose to do. Third, I have to agree with Seb and other commenters regarding the solo vs. group music. Honestly there is no verses really and as you've witnessed ARMY can get touchy on those comparisons, but please understand that is because most of us came to love BTS before this solo era and even when they may have done solo songs or mixtapes, those were like BONUSES, because the true magic happens with BTS.as a group. Seb is right though, that what makes BTS so amazing is the fact that they are all so damn talented and so they all bring something strong and unique to the group and it is simply magical. Because you have ventured on the solo projects primarily, understandably, they are amazing and allow for each member to shine in their special area, you definitely have not been able to fully absorb their group work. It's as if you ate the dessert first and missed the glory of the main course. Yes everyone loves dessert, but you really can't sustain life with only dessert. The solos are as good as they are because of their group work. Because they grew and learned as a team first and every single one of them would agree with that. So, it's like you're watching the end of the movie, but you missed true plot. You know the happy ending, but you missed why it's happy or important. I do hope you will take our advice, it is given out of respect for our enjoyment of watching you react and just wanting you to understand fully why BTS really are legends and also why and how they have built a literal ARMY who not only supports them in every way that we can, including going to bat for them when people try to diminish their history or talent, but also cares about them genuinely as people. I've been around for quite some time now and I have loved a lot of different music and artists, but I have NEVER experienced a symbiotic relationship between artist and fan like I have with BTS, because it's much more than that and it's hard to even explain unless you're in it. But it is that relationship that drives the passionate comments you see, because once you're in it and feel the power behind it, you just want everyone else to too. I'm sorry I tend to be long-winded. I just can't stop once I start.

2024-12-04 21:44:57 +0000 UTCIf you guys want to really deep dive, and that is if and only if, I hope you will be able to watch some fanmade videos explaining about more on their background, journey as musicians, artists, performers, and what it means to be an idol and an asian in the music industry. As well as their beginnings and journey to where they are now and past hardships. Since you already find their sound, style and music appealing, the level of connection and appreciation to their artistry and music will elevate more if you get to know the story and meaning behind the songs they make. Especially for the rap songs, because if you don't know the hardships they went through, some of their rap song will only sound or come through as more cocky or just a flex instead of like a clapback. They also have made a lot of fan songs that when you don't fully understand or grasp the bond/pact between BTS and ARMY as JK once said he doesn't even know who's following who anymore. These fan songs will only come across as lovesongs like typical lovesongs rather than a loveletter to their fans which further strengthens the bond among us. I think if you will get to know those little details there will be more weight to what they wanted to convey in their songs. I am saying little details because the whole Bangtan Universe is on another level. But if you boys are here for the vibe, new sound and quality of music different from the western mainstream music that you are used to hearing and seeing, you are also very much welcome to the show. That is just one tip that I can give you because I also understand and believe that there are different kinds of fans and we all have different ways of music consumption and appreciation, as it should be, for we are all individuals made uniquely from each other, hence the differences but we can also all find similarities and commonalities from each other and I am more than glad to know that that common factor is BTS. This is just a suggestion. Your channel, your way. We are just merely expectators also reacting. Thank you for giving your time and effort to get to know more about BTS. I'd like to suggest that you guys do like a replay of the songs you react to so you can pay attention to the lyrics 'cause they're truly a masterpiece specially the rapline's songs (not to say the others aren't because they are). I'm thinking you do look at the lyrics but not fully, and not enough time to digest it while watching the video. I'd rather see you react the MVs , then go back and watch paying attention to the lyrics. This way you could actually stop while you're reading if you had questions, or comments. Also if you could raise the MV volume it would be great.

There’s a lot of context that we get in their group songs, especially in the b-sides when they’re talking about their struggles, self love stuff like that. Lyrics are very important… but I hope they’ll find their own way to get there bc the good thing abt how nowadays is that we have lots of resources so unless they have no interest there is not really a reason to not try to check out the lyrics lol

BTS have continuously evolved and experimented with their sound and meanings behind their music since day 1. Their discography is an earnest records of their lives, both as individuals and as a collective. So their lyrics in 2013 capture their experiences as adolescents/young adults just like how their group releases of today capture their experiences as adults entering their 30s. That's why I see BTS' solo work as an extension of BTS's discography, and you can feel that once you dive deeper into the history of their musical releases as a group~

The individuality shines in solo work and they can do what suits their vibe the best, but the almost Avengers-like quality of them as a group is crazy. I think once you all dive back into their group work, you’ll see that. I would recommend some live concert performances to see not only their songs, but vocal ability and how they feed off of each other’s energy. There’s a pretty famous 4-song run from a concert in Japan - Dope, Baepsae, Fire, and Idol. It’s shocking. I’d also recommend the Cypher Medley. Insane.

However, I’d agree with some ARMYs here that maybe you could focus more on the lyrics of the songs as well because they’re amazing. Beyond the banger beats, the lyrics tackle important issues and have so much depth. I also agree with Seb—what makes them great solo artists is how they’ve grown together as a group. Each member brings unique talents, and together they’re like a super team. When you dive deeper into their journey as solo artists, you’ll see that their individual success is rooted in the support they’ve given each other since day one. They’ve grown up together, learned from one another, and that’s helped shape who they are now. It’s definitely a challenge for them to go solo, especially because of the military enlistments. It’s even more challenging for the vocal line, since the rap line had already released mixtapes before. Creating and managing their own albums without the group’s support is a new experience for the vocal line, but they’re doing an incredible job. There’s still plenty of time to learn more about BTS and each member. As you dive deeper, you’ll start to understand what we’re talking about. I’m looking forward to seeing more solo work from the members and hopefully some BTS content beyond the music, like their variety shows or interviews! 💜

Sure, they’ve all proved they can shine brightly on their own but when they form a constellation, they’re truly unstoppable.

They were underground rappers before they became members of bts and by becoming idols it was seen as a betrayal to hip hop. This song and all the cyphers by the rapline clap back at these haters
