I don’t know what you should do. I’d prefer to not lose any of the comics in Tiago’s style because that’s one of the draws to stay for me. It’s just the scheduling thing that was frustrating me. If I had more money I’d move up

Drunk Dragon has its own Patreon and we're adding here just because Tiago took the project and I felt right to move some of the contents of Drunk Dragon here. Stardust is done by another artist and it's not a problem for the schedule or budget. Family is something we're creating now and it takes time to be bigger. Sins is a commission from one of the patron and, believe if I says that, it's one of the reason why we're still open. Without this monthly commission, we were closed months ago. Even if we stop Family or Dragon, not a lot will change. Because maybe we can save one day of work every week. But then the situation will not change. And Dragon brings some budget too from the other Patreon channel. So it's even more money loss if we'll stop it. Trashmaid is a separated one and we don't take any money from that Patreon (only from selling the books, but we're struggling from that part too because the shipping prices and taxes are killing us. It's not easy to find a solution on these things, because, if we cut something, there're more probability to lose money than earn some more.

2024-09-27 03:21:40 +0000 UTCYou've certainly set your selves up with a challanging work load. I counted 12 active comics, and that's not including what is on the heigher teirs. (Also I have no idea how Trash Mermaid fits into the equation, was that a separate artist doing their own thing or is it also you 2?) Your pricing is generous compared to the amount of content you produce each month. The other two artists I sub too do about 3-5 episodes per month across 2-4 comics, and you're over here avereging 16-20 episodes. I like my season idea, but no idea if anyone else would. I imagine it would be a lot easier to focus on 4-6 comics at a time instead of all 12. As for ending some, no one likes it, but artists do survive (cough merryweather cough). Looking at webtoon, the worst preforming comics based on views and subs are Dragon, Stardust, Family and Sins. I'd hate to see any of them go, and based on the high ratings others would too. If you ever try something like seasons, perhaps they'd be the first contenders for it

2024-09-27 02:21:36 +0000 UTCThe problem is that we're only 2 person in the team and one of them is an illustrator. We don't have physically the time to work on everything. The solutions are these: hire a colorist (but we're struggling to survive, so it's impossible), end some stories (but some people could complain) or I don't have other ideas. There are Patreon pages who are literally sharing one post every week or month. And they have 4k or plus as a budget. We're surviving with 1.3k and we have a schedule that neither Netflix has. 😭

2024-09-26 17:32:25 +0000 UTCI agree. I've been tempted to drop them because of it. But i like the comics enough to not. I'm more tempted to drop due the current rate of silly bard release (1 a month). Personally I'd like to see them rotate the different "side" comics as "seasons" like tv. That would lessen their current work out alot and help them get a head of schedule. Counting the last few months on webtoon, it looks like they currently do around 16-20 total episodes a month (4 silly studio, 1 bard, 1 crab and 10-14 everything else). Thats not counting what's hiding on the higher teirs, and all the extra art/gifs. Personally I'd aim for 4 silly studio episodes + 4 exclusive (2 ep of bard/crab each) + 6 side comics (3ep of 2 comics) a month. That's down to 14 episodes a month and the stories can progress a lot faster at once. That might also leave a little space for another nsfw comic, to help get people into that teir. If you really want to game it, only release 2ep of the side comics a month and suck people over to patreon to get 3 a month...eventaully you'll be a few weeks ahead of webtoon, as it should be. If the extra comics get planned out in 6,9 or 12 episode arcs, or at least paused at a resonable points, I wouldn't mind waiting a while for the next "season". It's not all that different then the other artists that go on hiatus for years at a time, but at least we will expect it, know its comming back, and get something else in it's place. The amount of content they promise on the teirs vs the current pricing, is extremely generous. We get 7? total comics for the price of 2, plus all the extras. I'd happily pay a bit more, if it meant Bard released more often. I’m just spitting out ideas...they probably wont work in reality for one reason or another. But maybe they'll inspire something that will, because it's clear the current model is struggling and I don't want it to.

Think of it like we’re a tv or movie studio providing the budget for the movie or show and then instead of sending us to the movie premiere or airing the pilot for us first they just release the movie or show onto YouTube for free first

The last ep of cute dictator was only two days behind webtoon, a sigificant improvement. Let em cook for another month or two. I'm guessing they don’t want to over post here for some reason, and don't want to underpost on webtoon.
