Catsu Corner: Nyagiri and Sashimeow

(Update 10-14-2024: Tightened up Sashimeow's colors and design a bit. Changed Sashimeow's facial expression a bit to match changes made to his personality while writing the story. He's now more initially standoffish and rude. On the contrary, I added a slight smile to Nyagiri. While still laid back, he's now more upbeat instead of stoic. Their dynamic has essentially reversed, which fit the story I'm writing better.)

Introducing characters for my next comic idea: Nyagiri and Sashimeow!

Nyagiri, a 27 year old Japanese Bobtail cat, has been around since 2017 who first appeared in a short B&W sumo comic and a few illustrations since. I've always wanted to cast him in a long-form comic as a main character and had several ideas, but was never sure on what story I wanted to tell and was also preoccupied with It's A Good Day.

Sashimeow, a 29 year old Munchkin cat, is somewhat new. I had a rough concept of him around the time after I created Nyagiri. He was created as the love interest for Nyagiri, and he continues to be that, but I updated his appearance to be more happy and uplifting compared to Nyagiri's stoic, laid back demeanor.

I have a story that I'm finishing up writing and preparing for after Hyouza Goes To The Nude Beach Actually finishes up next month. Look forward to more then! 😉
