Hive Imperium Princess Nea + Update

Hello!

So this picture took me a few ultra late nights to finally complete from the sketch phase to complete. I knew I wasn't too good at backgrounds when I started this and her sister poster, but dammit I poured my heart and soul into it!

ABOUT THE PICTURE:

This here gal has been drawn before, Neastrocias Vona VII. Her design has been updated quite a bit, and the society she comes from fleshed out quite a bit more in the background also. I was really excited to try and do something cool with the backgrounds for the pics of both Nea and Axara, and convey the cool fantasy scifi ideas. A beautiful space elf princess, of a vast and all consuming nature elf empire! A spirited space elf maiden of a ragtag resistance relying on piracy and crystalline technology to repel the invaders! A desperate struggle amongst the stars, shitloads of self indulgent and kinky worldbuilding (mostly involving kinky slavegirl antics and twists on fantasy stuff), and two heroines that bring out the best in each other! The process of making these pics really helped solidify these two in their character concept too (holy shit I did a lot of concept art, but I was really into it lmao).

Anyways, goes to show. To know a character, draw a mile of their story. I want to draw more of the salacious and kinky antics Nea and Axara would get up to.

General Update:

I think this particular challenge was beyond my skillset at the time, and I still don't feel like I know what to do to have done it better, but I for sure know what I want to study. Using DesignDoll was really helpful, but I definitely need to study painting fundamentals.

 I'll post it up on twitter for tomorrow, but most excitingly, this is the last of the commissions batch I previously accepted! I'll be really glad to have the downtime, so I'll be spending some time studying, doing pictures for you, and seeing what other projects I can do.

Full disclosure, the last six months or so has been a bit of a wild ride for me, and I'm starting a new job next month! It's a huge step up for me, so I am really excited by it. Its been taking a lot of my time to apply for, but that's mostly sorted out now. So two big weights lifted this week!
