Playable Avatar Demo on Godot - Devlog 24.09.2025

And Demo of Avatar Customization. More info below :D

Hey, it's Sifa :D

So, as some of you might know, we are working on Godot version of the game. Godot is a game engine similar to Unity, but open source. In short - it's quite promising. So moving there gives us a lot of opportunities.

So let's talk what is going on there.

Static Avatar is Done

To start with, we successfully implemented the Static Avatar. It has all the functionality as it should be. And in addition to that, now we can place it on the item cards. It makes it way easier to distinguish items from each other. And that also means that we don't need to draw "additional" artworks or export additional files by hand for just items. Now we can just place avatar there, and you can picture how it's going to look on your current Body state, bcz it uses the body in its current state for the image.

However, with that we introduce some lags... But don't be afraid! It starts lagging only when there are maaany item cards showing at the same time. So that's the case only for the Testing Room. In the game, when you see only a few at the same time, it shouldn't be a problem. Though we will try to further improve the performance.

And yeah, you can try the demo of Character Creation made in Godot. Don't expect too much from that though xD It's still the same Character Creation as we have in JS version of the game. And we haven't done any fancy visuals yet, like pretty UI, animations, etc. So it looks a bit dull atm. Still I wanted to show you that the development is in progress :D

Next steps

We also implemented Battle System. Yeah, that's true :D We haven't added all the effects yet, though a simple system to add effects is also done. Tbh, the development goes way smoother than I thought when we were starting it :D

So our next step will be to release the "only battles" version of Shuffle Me. Without "outside of the battle" content for now. Then I'll upload it on patreon, and we're going to test it.

Bcz most of the stuff is done already, I'm starting to work on visuals too. Mostly I mean User Interface. Don't want the actual playable version to look dull xD
Also, to teach our artists to work with the Avatar, I asked them to make more recolors for the existing colors. And maybe some new items too. So Avatar is going to look better too.
And yeah, we might add some patterns from popular characters too. Just bcz it's fun :D I don't consider these as stealing. For me it's similar to cossplay. You're not stealing when you're cosplaying a popular character, right?

I'm also thinking about adding a bit of sound into the game. Though it's not the priority. Also, I'm not sure if I can keep the "everything is original" credo with the sound. I mean, I can write a melody or background track or so. But sound-design would be a problem (these small sounds, like card movements, various ticks, hits, clicks, etc.) So I'd probably just buy a pack with different samples and use them...

Next update of JS build

Don't think that we've forgotten about the current build xD The next update is going to be released on this week, if everything is ok. If there will be some unexpected problems - then I'll upload it on the next week.

The update is about Cum. We are changing the way Cum and Cumming works. Instead of spawning dozens of tokens, we're adding "cum" battle effect (like Shield, Drain, Burst, etc.).
I should've thought about that before. It seems so obvious, bcz cum is going to appear quite often xD

Another update is Card Types (suits). Before, they were static. Like if it's a red "burst" card, then it gives 1 Burst. And the same happens with every single Red Burst card. No exceptions.

But now, with some adjustments to Card's layout, we can place a number in the "diamond". So now it should be easier to make expensive cards actually better. At least it's going to help with the variety of cards :D

I think it's still quite simple to distinguish one effect from another. For me it looks even better than before (especially cum :D I'm thinking about the cum too much...)

So, try the demo, tell me if you have any problems with it (can't download, can't launch, windows don't like it, too laggy, etc.)
Also, there is no Apple version yet. I don't have apple devise and don't have anyone with it to test it. So for now it's only PC and Linux (bcz some anonymous programmer likes linux too much xD)

Ah, to take an item off you can just "wear" the first item in the list. It's usually an "empty" item with a name like "No Top" or so. And yeah, seems like we're going to release godot version sooner than I thought :D And thangs for some good words :D

Looks pretty good! I like the layout a lot more and it's good being able to see the items before you've put them on. I tried the linux version and it lagged slightly, but nothing crazy. I noticed that there isn't an option to remove a piece of clothing once you'd tried it on, so to take items off I had to reset the character. Cool to see the game progressing and excited to see the new version when it's released!
