Simple Slavery is a fun little mod for a roleplay'ishly semi-immersive entrance into various submissive player stories. Throughout the years the mod has received quite a lot of updates and different maintainers but throughout all this time, there was always one thing that really bothered me: The auction hall.
The mod is certainly not aiming for realism, and I have no intention to change anything about that, yet a proper role playing environment still wants to tap into that atmosphere that you expect to feel, to surround you and the cozy small room with the warm and welcoming lighting isn't exactly doing that.
SS Rebuild is a mod aiming to address that very aspect of Simple Slavery: Atmosphere.
In combination, all these things will add a very much intimidating and ominous feeling to the cell. I put great effort in making sure that just stepping a foot into the main hall instantly welcomes you with an eerie feeling; this isn't a family meeting and you're definitely not doing legal things there. Being a nice guy also wont get you far. Trying to stop it, be a hero? You forgot about the guards?
Being the one in chains isn't much better: The lack of light in the spawn cell forces your attention towards the auction itself where everyone will just ignore you. Unlike in the original cell, nobody will look in your direction anymore, you don't exist until you're up. And once you're up? Well, you have a big room with many, many eyes directed directly at you. I placed the walls and the pedestal specifically so that no matter in which direction you look, someone will stare back and thanks to the cell layout and lighting, you will feel intimidated and all alone. These eyes staring at you? That's the only future you got, you'll never reach that exit, just give up on it.
Compatibility
SSR only edits the Simple Slavery cell, it does not delete anything and uses the original objects and markers where possible. I do not change any scripts and only edit a couple of dialogue options that were necessary to determine if the player is currently jailed or not.
The mod should also be compatible with all future versions of SS, so long these versions dont include new objects/NPC to the simple slavery cell or add new dialogue that is only supposed to be available when the player is free/enslaved. I will of course update the mod if such changes should occur
