I want to pet dog

I haven't been able to make too much progress since the last update, but I did start adding in assets and started to flush out the animations for the little girl and the dog. This is not too far off of what the pervious version had in it, aside from the barking animation. I want the good dog to be able to bark at scary entities or things that might be "disturbing" to it. That mechanic still needs to be made.

I also re-added in the ability to pet the dog! (This was in the janky old version too, I just needed to remake it better for the newer version) I don't plan on there being any real significance to this, but I felt like all games with good dogs in them need to have good dogs get pet.

Looking at it technically, when the player is close enough to the good dog (and I'll add this to other furry animals, which is so far just the dog and the cats), the player can press the spacebar and the girl will play an animation of petting the good dog from whichever direction she is facing. The good dog will be notified of this action and begin to play an animation of him wagging his tail faster, and a couple little hearts will float above his head. The good dog will stay in this state of fast wagging tail and floating hearts until the player moves away from the good dog, then he will return back to the norm of chasing the player around.

If you have any ideas for the dog in this game let me know, but here's the thing guys- I probably wont be adding too many things dog-wise. My vision for this game doesn't have much focus on the dog, he's more of a small comfort for the player. I probably wont do anything too mechanic-heavy if you know what I'm saying.

Now you might have noticed that I've used "good dog" much more than a normal person should in this description- this was intentional. I'll let you in on a little secret that I've been planning since the inception of this game. The good dog doesn't stay a good dog 😧
