Q&A + 100,000L Water Tank

Hellooooo! We hope you are all having a lovely February! ☀️ We have had a busy month. After last year’s unbelievable drought, we decided we wouldn’t be out of water ever again, so have put all of our energy and resources into building the foundations for our 100,000L water tank. 💧💧

Whilst we have been managing this project, we have been working on a timelapse video of our outdoor bathroom. It was so fun watching it all come together in under an hour, and we loved seeing how much Sage has changed.

We put together a fun little Q&A video for you, that we hope you’ll enjoy, and answer some of your burning questions 😅

We’ve been outside planting lots of new fruit trees in the new forest next to the chicken house for all our generous patron’s who have been donating to us for more than a year now! 🍒🍎🍑🍊🥑🍏🍐

So thank you so much to:

Charles H - Níspero

James C - Peach

Arthur V - Green plum

Marc L - Red plum

Narelle C - Apricot

Neil H - Apricot

Teezr - Pomegranate

Mark M - Apricot

Cristi D - Golden plum

Kasper K - Apricot

As always, THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH for your kind support and generous donations. Much love ❤️

Thanks Gil! We're learning a lot being parents for the first time, no idea if what we're doing is a good way of doing things or not... but with Sage it feels like the best thing to do is just let him get on with whatever he wants to do, he's very adventurous, and learns so many new skills if you leave him to it, and we can see him becoming more useful, and learning how to do things safely from getting it wrong on his own many times over. Then when it comes to something genuinely dangerous he's vey good at avoiding it, because of all the many hours of letting him try all the other tasks on his own. He's also just so passionate and interested by everything it would be a shame not to let him get involved! Plus he's hilarious to have around haha, bringing some joy to the boring tasks. Hopefully more siblings on the horizon Gil we'll keep you updated! 🧡

I just saw the video on Youtube about the Chicken house. I am just amazed how patience both of you are with Sage, in letting him help around. I love that he can do stuff without being overprotective. Great job he is going to be a great human being. Are there plans for another sibling? Take care.

Thanks Charles! We left a little thank you message in the description of the video too! Sage loves the book, it's a lovely theme, we have read it to him about 20 times already and we're not getting bored of it haha, which is the usual test of whether it's a good book or not! Thank you for the kind note as well. So happy you enjoyed the latest video, it has been such a challenging video because it's been raining solidly for about 3 weeks so filming has been difficult, we really thrive on the clear sunlight here, and when it's not here our motivation drops and we spend most of our time chopping wood and trying to keep ourselves warm haha. But it turned out well in the end thankfully, glad you liked all the nature shots, we are finding a passion for those for sure, it's amazing to see all the new animals and plants everywhere, it's probably the most rewarding thing about everything we're doing! 🧡

Another terrific video--the chicken house is looking so elegant and strong. Excited to see how the final elements come together. Love how much nature you weave into each segment--your photography skills are really special. I was particularly relieved to see "Amos and Boris" making a showing--I was just about to mail another copy. Looking forward to hearing how Sage liked the story. 🧡

That's wonderful to hear Michael! 🧡

Thanks Gil! A live Q&A is a cool idea, we'll think about it for next time, it would be great to speak with you guys in this format, we'd love to interact more with you all! Hard to tell if all the trees have made it yet, waiting for spring to come and we'll be able to see their progress, although the usual thing is they all come out great in spring to matter what but when the heat of summer hits some trees just can't handle it and die off, but most re-grow again from the root. We'll setup irrigation before summer so we can keep them well hydrated to prevent this from happening, and yes for sure we'll re-plant if any don't make it! It's really nice to have an excuse to plant more trees, we have absolutely no fruit trees on our land other than three fig trees, so this little forest is going to be very welcome, for us and the animals - we'll need to get good at preserving the fruits with dehydration, jars and freezing! 🧡

Thank you for sharing your lives with us. It helps me to regain faith in humanity.

Thanks Mike, really appreciate the comment! So happy to hear we've been an inspiration, congrats on gaining the courage to go for it. Are you looking to setup a homestead? Where are you thinking of moving to? - you can ask us for any tips, although not sure we're a glowing example for how to run a successful homestead haha, everything seems to go terribly wrong! 🧡

Thank you Michael - we never thanked you for becoming a Patreon member too - THANK YOU so much! Glad you liked the vid and thank you for all the comments and support it means the world to us! 🧡

Great personal video. Next time may be you can do a live Q&A. Did any of the trees did not make it? If so will you replant them?

Gil Gomis

It’s so inspiring watching you three. My wife and I are planning our move to Spain from the US, and can’t wait to be there! Also love how shy Robby is in front of the camera.
