Forest Fire
Added 2024-04-21 18:54:46 +0000 UTCHi everyone! Sorry we’re a little late on a video this month. This time last week, a fire broke out in our valley. What started as a small agricultural fire quickly developed into a huge inferno, burning an estimated 697 hectares of land. After 48 hours, the incredible fire fighters managed to stabilise the fire, but many people were affected. We were lucky enough that the fire was stopped before it reached our farm, but it was very close. The experience was quite shocking and exhausting for us.
During evacuation we broke our hard drive, which had this months video on, so we’ve sent it off to be repaired in Madrid, in the hope we can retrieve the footage - we’ll get the news on this next week.🤞🏻
We filmed the events from the fire (Robbie stayed in the house up until the last minute.) We’ll include the full breakdown in our next video, showing just how close it got, and the intensity of the evacuation. In the meantime, here's a short video showing a few key moments.

Thank you Slick! Not sure the video will ever do it justice, it was like totally insane... still recovering. Robbie keeps telling me everyday that we need to make a firebreak around our land, hopefully after the summer we can get the digger in to clear some areas around the land. We've had 2 fires right next to us in the last 3 years, so it is just a matter of time before its gets to us, we have to make some moves before then to ensure we are protected!

I think we're still recovering emotionally from it all. 2 fireman were injured during the fire, we hope they're ok. it's amazing there weren't more accidents with the planes and helicopters they were so incredible. It's nice to know you care about us and we really appreciate the love and support you've given us to date! We're getting our hard drive back from Madrid this week so hopefully have a video out on youtube very soon! Lots of love!
