The TV Show that didn't want you to know it was a Video Game

Listen, this episode was always going to happen. In many ways, it's a blessing that I've got it out of my system so soon.

Today we're talking about an exceptionally niche TV show that's very close to my heart: Time Commanders. Watching this as a kid was what got me into strategy games in the first place. I loved it. I still do love it.

And even I'm bemused that it ever existed in the first place. How on earth did this get commissioned? And why does a TV show that was built around the Total War games never tell its audience that they're actually looking at a video game?

As someone who isn't from the uk, I didn't know what this episode was about for several minutes, maybe because I was thinking this was about the 90's game Time Commando :p Great episode though, and very interesting! Keep up the good work, Chris! :)

Perhaps the nicest one so far; I'm really chuffed that your ability to go full-time with this is showing so clearly in the overall quality already. All of these topics seem so ripe for further digging, though I'm pretty convinced that you've hit upon the perfect length for continuous production that won't wreck your life. A thing I would love to see, actually, perhaps as a stretch goal if/as you gain more funding, would be supplemental feature articles for each episode, with background and further stories from and around the game/topic in question. Perhaps bibliographies of your research? I know that's something which would probably not be feasible for yourself to do during a production cycle, but it's not like there's not a surfeit of amazing games writers round your neck of the woods.
