The British teenagers who taught Nintendo how to make Star Fox

So this episode is a little different to our first one! Whereas last time around we looked into a niche PC title that would end up leading the way on Steam, here we wanted to go after one of the classics.

Developed in the early 90s by Nintendo in Kyoto, Japan, Star Fox is remembered fondly for its experimental gameplay and groundbreaking 3D graphics. In today's episode we'll be telling the unlikely story of how three British teenagers ended up programming most of the game out of a back room in Nintendo's office.

Oh, and Miyamoto used to smoke. That's perhaps the most shocking anecdote of all.

17! I was 13 when they did that and had nowhere near the drive those kids had back then. I wish I had half the talent now! Oh well. Great video, excellent production and truly informative. Proud to support.

The “anni-mations” are quite marvelous. It brings a nice polish to the video. At 17 I was a hormonal idiot so what they were able to achieve is quite eye opening and makes me feel like I wasted a lot of my teenage years. Anyway glad you’re sticking with the telescope it adds a sense of opulence to the videos and hopefully this is the first of many appearances by the flamingo. I see big things for it.
