Better Foliage for ETS 2/ATS

Foliage is the worst looking part of ETS 2/ATS for me but I'm not sure if its same for you so I wanted to do a poll.
Its not going to be a mod like other foliage mods. Its going to be a .dll file with new high quality models/textures with new shaders. I cannot replace the whole lighting system (because most default textures are incompatible with PBR lighting) but I can use some new methods inside shaders to improve the result.

Your TAA mod already made massive improvements on how the game looks even at lower resolutions than I usually use, so it may be a win anyway, I am eager to see. The only thing is, I know it will take work from Your part and I hope we wont dismiss Your work because of the performance hit. Cheers.

2024-12-06 19:46:40 +0000 UTCI think its going to look worse for photos compared to skybox because of lower details :/ Also it requires me to change lighting data from the game to make it look good, I was using PBR lighting when I recorded that video so it was looking fine with the lighting but now it will look weird without affecting the environment lighting

2024-12-06 17:29:46 +0000 UTCI understand that the performance cost is very high, but could you make a downloadable version available? It would be really cool to use for photos. A demo version of: Volumetic Clouds - Devlog 4 and Cabin Lighting - Devlog 5. I don't mind bugs or errors, but other people might feel differently, so to avoid stressing about it, you could put a notice saying that it's not finished, so people don't complain.

2024-12-06 11:59:11 +0000 UTCBut I also think games should use 1 or 2 layers dynamic clouds not volumetric but 2d clouds. I think this is the best way, I might do it but if I want to do this I need to replace skyboxes and make animations for 2d clouds

2024-12-06 11:34:49 +0000 UTCI understand it looks cool but :( * Looks worse compared to hyper realistic skybox * You can feel the movement of clouds when you are stationary but its pretty hard to notice while you are driving * Higher performance cost So I think its better to use skybox instead of volumetric clouds for driving games <3
