What is HWID?

HWID is an unique string generated for your computer. Its used to detect computer changes for licensed softwares and pc ban for online games (almost all of them). So its widely used and it doesn't contain any private information.
How HWID generated?
HWID includes one or more unique hardware serial number (motherboard, keyboard, mouse, hard drive, gpu etc) or similar unique data. Then this data used as HWID, so every game and software might use different data for this.

How am I using HWID?
When you start the game with my mods/plugins, HWID generated by using one or more hardware serial numbers. Then its hashed by MD5 (so its not possible revert HWID to original serial numbers which doesn't even matter). When mod/plugin is checking your license its also checking your HWID. If you use mod/plugin on another computer, HWID is different so it knows you changed computer. With HWID data I can check if you are sharing your licensed files with other people or not.
Simply: HWID is not something harmful and its not a private data. Instead of believing other people, please just use google and learn yourself.

Subscribed to your TAA mod for ATS as I just didn't have the GPU and CPU grunt to do their absurd over-sampling work-around, and because my eyes were beginning to hurt at how shimmery their game was on my humble 1060GTX. Well, your mod certainly did the trick and despite a few mis-steps in the updates (the overhead wires tend to suffer a bit with disappearing tricks but its a sacrifice I gladly take) it made such a major difference to the game for me. Everything became so smooth and sharp, and with barely a performance hit. I'm now trying their 1.50 without your mod and it's definitely a mixed bag. I like the colour adjustments according to lighting, the skies are beautiful and the shadows work far better than before. The game also feels a lot smoother and I'm sure I'm getting more FPS. However the TAA is still pretty feeble. In low-light the SCS TAA is okay, and shimmer is moderately reduced, but in the daytime - crikey! Shimmer-a-go-go except out of the corner of your eyes. It's odd to me how a company who are so attentive and skilled in so many different areas (mapping, cargoes, simulation) are so terrible at this one specific thing. Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with it but I realise Rome isn't built in a day, so I understand the wait. I just hope SCS get their act together, figure out how to do it properly in DX12 and the vanilla player can enjoy a decent sharp look that really shows off their beautiful recreation of the US to the standard it deserves. 2024-04-10 16:15:27 +0000 UTCI tested the new ATS AA and I must say that your plugin is much better than the TAA that SCS implemented. I used the version with "DLSS Quality" and although it's not perfect, it has much less flickering and blurring. Continue with your work, because SCS does not have the competence to improve the AA of its games.
