Chapter Debrief | Session 𝓢eventy-Three

Hi Lusties, hopefully everyone's week is going well:) It's time for a HUGE debrief. This chapter was genuinely a lot.

The shower moment truly shows how much power Monroe has over Liberty. Even when things go wrong, Liberty believes Monroe is always the solution. She always "fixes" things for her.

It was healthy that Liberty put down that pillow boundary between them, even if it clearly affected Ro.

The nightmare was also very sad, especially for Liberty who's coping deeply with so much at once. Monroe genuinely hated that she caused this, and she even wanted Liberty to hold her accountable.

Liberty just had to snap out of her Mommy headspace with Monroe, and grasp reality again. It's a trigger-response with Liberty, and she genuinely sees Monroe as her safe person.

The mommy term is deeper here, not because Liberty genuinely sees her as that, but because she's reverting back to their power dynamic. During sexual scenes with Monroe, Liberty feels safe—she has a safeword and feels comfortable with Monroe. Libs reverts to her safe space when she can't fully grasp a harsh reality.

Now on to the main topic at hand... Talia's death.

A lot of you had some similar predictions, and you even guessed that her parents were behind it, which you guessed correctly.

Talia was different, but in a deeper way. She was Ro's first arrangement. Monroe learned what precautions she should've had in the first place. It affected her deeply and made her into the person she is now.

It wasn't shocking that Talia lost her edge, and Monroe even said that. It was when she went public with everything that made it an issue with her parents.

Hence, why Monroe didn't hesitate with the Maricel situation. She was genuinely trying to protect Liberty and saw it as life or death. She chose Liberty over Maricel and took any necessary precautions. Everything was deeper than any of us could imagine here.

And our poor Ro Ro cried for the first time. I personally teared up both times when writing and editing this chapter.

It makes sense why Monroe had a full breakdown at the idea of Liberty meeting her parents or going to the estate. Yes, it was the control aspect, but she was also scared her parents would take Liberty away.

Them going to McDonald's after was so cute as well, especially now that everything was cleared up. The ice cream kiss that Liberty insisted on was also very wholesome.

How do we feel about Libs asking Ro to be her girlfriend? Or the Sarai situation still hanging in the air? Feel free to comment your thoughts and predictions. Book club is officially in session, Lusties🤍📚

Comments

I figured Monroe didn't kill Talia. But I'm glad to read it ☺️ I still think liberty is being naive about her. But that's okay. True love takes at least 1 fool. ;) thank you for another great chapter 🙏 I hope there's some bonding with Eliza and eye opening/understanding of Monroe as a real person (not mommy🤤, not ro ro 🥵) but like kinda why Monroe feels like control is the only way even after watching her parents destroy her with it. And then maybe back to mommy 🤣🥴

Candy

Why noone talkin bout the way they literally say they gon be together forever like Ro is basically sayin she gonna marry Libs
