Case File Name:
A Bigger Plan.
♤Chapter One Hundred-One♤
"So beautiful," Tazmin said, running her hands over my bare stomach as she rubbed in the cream lotion.
It was something she would do at night, but now she's decided to do it in the mornings too.
"Only three more weeks," I whispered, watching as she grabbed the bottle of lotion, pouring more of it into her hands.
"Hopefully he comes earlier," Tazmin mumbled with a small smile.
I felt my lips twitch up, "The doctor did say it could be any day now," I pointed out as she rubbed the lotion in under my bump.
Which was huge at this point, especially considering I'm thirty-seven weeks.
The past four months have been normal and consistent—I stopped working a while ago considering how much it stressed Tazmin out, and since then I've been at home waiting for her whenever she's downtown handling business.
"You look so cute in my clothes baby," Tazmin said, eyeing the black button-down that I wore tucked up so she could rub lotion over my stomach.
I also wore flowy white pants considering the stretchy waistband.
"I can barely wear them," I laughed slightly, shaking my head at my wife who only shrugged happily, "Imagine what I'll look like tonight for dinner."
Tazmin raised a brow, "I've been imagining all morning," she murmured, caressing my stomach even if she had already finished with the lotion.
"It could be our last dinner out as a family of two," I whispered with a growing smile, feeling so excited to go out.
Tazmin had this dinner planned a week ago—she even specified that I wear a dress.
"Imagine us as a family of three," Tazmin said, smiling so beautifully at me.
I hummed at the idea, "Us and baby T," I whispered as she helped me lay up from our bed.
"Whose face we get to see again today," Tazmin said, her smile widening as I stood from the bed with her help.
"We have to frame today's ultrasound picture somewhere—maybe for the side table in the living room," I said as Tazmin walked over to our closet to get my shoes.
"Or we could add it to the table in the main entryway," Tazmin suggested as she walked out of the closet with my black Hermés slides.
I nodded happily at the idea, slipping on the slides she sat on the floor for me.
And soon we were walking out of our bedroom, heading to the garage where Tazmin helped me into the Cadillac SUV.
The drive to our usual doctor's office was filled with the typical excitement.
We're always both so impatient and excited to even see or talk about Tahir—especially with how quickly my due date is approaching.
Now we actually get to see an up-close of his face depending on which way he's laying in my stomach.
And luckily this time he was laying perfectly for us to see his detailed face.
We also discussed his overall health and then my due date.
Considering I've lost my mucus plug, we only have a few more weeks max until he comes.
It could also be a few days.
It's really just up to my body and Tahir.
But otherwise, everything looked perfectly well, which always made me and my wife feel good.
I nearly grinned ear to ear as I got ready for dinner.
I wore my typical matte makeup look with my hair down and in loose curls.
I also decided on a white flowy dress that naturally clung slightly to my bump.
I accessorized with my typical jewelry and even opted for a hand chain.
Lastly, I slid on a pair of sandals, meeting my wife out in the kitchen where she was concluding a phone call.
She wore a white top that showed off her toned tatted arms with loose cream pants and shiny slip-on loafers.
Her soft blonde hair was down and framed her sharp face—wearing her usual icy chains and bracelets.
"Just get a better update, I gotta go," Tazmin said, openly eyeing my appearance as I walked over toward her.
And as she ended the call, her arms found their way around my body—gently pulling me into her for a kiss.
"Beautiful as always baby," she murmured against my lips, drawing her hands up my back.
I smiled slightly, "Right back at you beautiful," I whispered to her, briefly kissing her lips one more time before pulling away.
Tazmin's smile only grew, drawing me back in for yet another kiss.
"I love you," she said, her tone so soft as she trailed kisses away from my lips toward my cheek.
My smile widened, "I love you too baby," I murmured, feeling my chest grow with a deep warmth as Tazmin caressed my stomach.
"You too baby T," she murmured, pulling away to lean down and briefly kiss my stomach, "You're eating good tonight."
I raised a brow as she leaned up to her full height, "Oh yeah?" I asked, wondering where she was taking me.
Tazmin hummed, "Yes baby—but it's a surprise," she said, gently grabbing my hand to lead us out to the garage.
And once we were both seated in the Cadillac Escalade, Tazmin began driving us to whatever restaurant she had planned.
Which turned out to be a restaurant opening named August.
Luckily, Tazmin's name was already on the list considering how long of a wait there was.
She specified a more distant table from everyone and the waitress managed to give us exactly that.
Water was also brought out to the table immediately while we began looking through our menus.
"So do you like it, baby?" Tazmin asked, her dark eyes analyzing my face as I glanced through the menu.
I nodded, "Yeah, it's really cute and..." I trailed off, blinking a few times as I re-read one of the entrees on the heavy menu.
Lena's Hot Wings
"That's an insane coincidence," I said, turning the menu around to face Tazmin.
Who read the exact entree I pointed to.
Yet she only smiled?
"I named that one after you mama," she said, which immediately made my brows shoot up.
And as soon I processed her words, tears burned in my eyes.
Which naturally confused Tazmin, especially when I quickly slid out of the booth to rush off toward the bathroom.
It's not a big deal—it's really not a big deal.
But she bought Adriana a restaurant and...
I don't know why this is making me so upset.
Like why am I breaking down into real fucking tears right now?
I sniffled, keeping my head down as I patted under my eyes.
And as soon as the door to the dim bathroom gently opened, I already knew who had walked in.
Especially when she gently ran her hands up my arms.
"I'm sorry baby," Tazmin whispered, placing a soft kiss on my covered shoulder, "I didn't mean to upset you, I just thought it would be nice to give you a place that has your favorite wings and—"
"I don't want wings from here," I mumbled, leaning away from her touch as I continued dabbing under my eyes, "I just want your wings—I don't want a restaurant."
Tazmin immediately nodded, taking a respectful step away from me, "We'll do wings at home then Mil—it's not a big deal," she immediately assured me.
I shook my head, "But it is a big deal," I forced out, feeling more annoying tears burn in my eyes and cloud my vision, "I want to eat wings here," I said even if I knew my words sounded so confusing.
But I felt just as confused.
Tazmin remained silent for a moment behind me as I leaned over the counter for more support—breaking down even more pathetically into tears.
"Mil," Tazmin suddenly said, her voice calm and gentle with me, "Tell me what's going on baby."
I let out a long weak sigh, shaking my head a few times, "You got Adriana a restaurant too," I whispered, keeping my head down in embarrassment.
"Invested, Milena—I never bought one for her," Tazmin clarified, walking over to one of the stalls and grabbing some of the toilet paper, "It's two entirely different things, I promise baby."
I sniffled again, turning around when she gently grabbed my hand and guided me to face her so she could carefully dab under my eyes.
"I love you—I'm married to you and I'm having a child with you," she said, emphasizing her words to be clearer, "And I bought you a restaurant to make more memories with you and our son," she added, her dark eyes never wavering from mine.
I nodded wordlessly a few times, feeling more tears burn in my eyes, "I'm sorry, I just... I thought—"
"Don't apologize baby," Tazmin gently cut me short, briefly kissing my forehead, "I understand why you assumed that."
I nodded a few times, drawing in a deep breath as she continued to gently dab under my eyes.
And once she was done, she leaned down to gently kiss my lips—and then both my cheeks.
"Let's get back to our night," Tazmin whispered, pressing a brief kiss to the side of my neck.
I nodded a few times, "Please," I forced out, hoping to just forget this embarrassing incident.
My wife smiled down at me, her dark eyes trailing every inch of my face, "Even when you cry, you're still so fucking beautiful, Milena," she said, gently tucking my dark hair behind my ear.
I felt a weak smile twitch up on my lips, tipping my head back slightly when she leaned down to press another brief kiss on my lips.
"I love you so much, Tazmin," I whispered as she pulled back slightly.
"I love you too baby—so much," Tazmin murmured, her smile growing as she briefly glanced over to the bathroom door, "Ready to head back out?"
I nodded a few times, "Definitely," I said, until I suddenly accounted for my bladder that our son loved laying on, "After I pee actually," I quickly whispered.
And my wife didn't hesitate to back away from me and open a stall door, motioning me through so I could use the bathroom.
Which didn't take too long, especially with how excited I now was to try all the food here.
I swear we ordered in less than five minutes of being back at our table.
And of course, I had to try the hot wings named after me.
I also tried the crispy cajun fries and the mac and cheese—and later a slice of Oreo Cheesecake.
It was all so perfect, and it was almost like the crying incident never happened.
Or Tazmin just helped me forget about it all.
"That was amazing—I swear I'm so full," I said, gently squeezing Tazmin's hand that rested in my lap while she maneuvered the car.
"As long as you and T feel good baby," Tazmin said as she drove down our familiar street.
A smile grew on my lips, "We feel amazing—I love the restaurant so much," I whispered.
Tazmin smiled briefly glancing over to me, "I'm glad, Mil," she said, motioning her head up, "Can you open the garage for me?"
I immediately nodded, pressing the garage button on the visor as she pulled into our driveway.
And as the car briefly halted, my brows furrowed, glancing between the four-car garage.
One spot used to be empty.
Now there's a Mercedes GLE Coupe sitting there with a red bow and balloons hanging from it.
"Tazmin?" I breathed out, glancing over to my wife who only smiled as she analyzed my face.
"Happy push present mama," Tazmin told me, putting the car in park and turning it off so she could get out.
And as soon as she walked over to my side, I unbuckled my seatbelt—allowing her to help me down from the car.
"Tazmin I can't even right now," I said, visibly still in shock as we approached the car.
Push presents are normal yes—but an entire car as a push present felt like a Tazmin thing.
"Do you like it? I already had the car seat installed by the fire department," Tazmin said as she unlocked the car.
And handed me the keys.
I shook my head with a wide smile, "You spoil me so much, I can't," I said, laughing as she opened the driver's side for me.
Where a Chanel box sat.
"Tazmin," I said, my tone all giddy as I smiled at my wife.
Who only leaned down and kissed my lips.
But before she could pull back, I deepened the kiss, running my hands past her waist to hold her closer.
"Thank you so much for everything," I murmured against her lips.
"Thank you for carrying our son baby," Tazmin said, pressing a few brief kisses to my lips before pulling back, "I know a child wasn't exactly a part of your plan—"
"But it was a part of our plan—a bigger plan," I cut her short in reassurance, which immediately made a smile grow on my wife's lips.
"A much bigger plan," she repeated back to me, inevitably leaning back down to briefly kiss my lips, "Now open your last gift for me, baby."
I smiled excitedly as we pulled away from each other, turning around to the Chanel box in the driver's seat.
The perfectly tied black ribbon was carefully undone by my hands, pulling the top of the box open to reveal—
A baby blue Chanel bag with gold hardware.
"I love it so fucking much," I whispered in awe, admiring my first bag in the blue shade.
I have navy, teal, and other similar blues.
But this one...
This would represent a specific time.
It would represent Tahir.
"The blue's cute right?" Tazmin murmured, running her arms around my waist from behind and resting her hands on my bump.
I nodded almost three times in a row, "So cute baby," I said, running my hands over the buttery soft leather, "We're really boy moms now."
My wife hummed, "I like the sound of that," she said, pressing a soft kiss to the side of my neck.
My smile widened, "Me too," I whispered, leaning back into her warm body for a moment as I basked in this sweet moment.
Until eventually, we decided to take the new car for a drive—and for once, Tazmin was in the passenger seat with me driving.
Everything felt so in place.
Especially as I drove the new car throughout our neighborhood under the night sky.
We're officially ready for Tahir.
