Case File Name:
Everything Shifted.
♤Chapter Ninety-Eight♤
I hummed to myself as I ran my fingers through my wavy dark hair that framed my face covered in light makeup.
And considering what today's plans consist of, I opted for a smooth black tank top and matching leggings.
Even if I didn't have anything close to a bump yet.
It had only been a month since we found out and all I feel is fat.
And like I want to stay home.
But working genuinely helps keep me busy—even if Tazmin insists nearly three times a day that I should be at home resting.
But I'm not even showing yet, so I'll be working while I can at least move around.
A smile suddenly grew on my lips as soon as my wife entered the bathroom—wearing her usual oversized t-shirt and baggy jeans.
She wore her blonde hair down, framing her sharp glowy face that was slightly shielded by a black snapback that she wore forward.
"Beautiful," Tazmin murmured, softly kissing my lips before leaning down to briefly kiss my stomach.
"Thank you, baby," I whispered as she leaned back up, "You always look good so..." I trailed off with a growing smile, eyeing her appearance entirely.
Tazmin smiled down at me, "Only by your side," she countered, sliding her arms around my waist, "How are you feeling ? Do you still feel nauseous from earlier?"
I happily shook my head, "No, I feel much better now," I told her, excited that my morning sickness had faded.
"That's good baby," Tazmin said as she ran her hands up my back, gently drawing me in closer to her, "Maybe the doctor can give us some tips for morning sickness."
I hummed, "That would be great," I determined, already feeling excited for our first ultrasound appointment.
It's also a small check-up too.
But I'm just excited to see our baby for the first time.
"Our agent also sent over a house that just got put on the market," Tazmin told me, which immediately made a sigh fall from my lips.
"I wish we could just find one already," I mumbled, leaning into her chest and hugging her so close to me.
We've looked at around thirty houses in the past month, and not a single one felt like the right fit.
It's like each one would check off everything on our list, but then that one important thing would be missing.
"I know baby, but this one checks off location, it's a new build, and it's not too modern like you like it," Tazmin told me, gently running her hands up and down my back.
I let out a deeper sigh, "Okay," I whispered, leaning away from her chest, "Hopefully this can be the one."
Tazmin hummed, briefly glancing down to my lips, "It feels like it could be," she said, closing the gap between our faces and briefly kissing my lips.
"When are we meeting our agent?" I asked as we naturally pulled back from the brief kiss.
Tazmin kissed my cheek, "Around four today," she told me, which luckily didn't interfere with our appointment.
It's currently eleven now and our appointment isn't until one.
I hummed when Tazmin trailed kisses down from my cheek to my neck—gently tilting my head back for further access.
"Tazmin—"
"You're so tense," my wife gently cut me short, guiding me back against the counter, "Let me take the edge off mama."
I drew in a deeper breath as soon as she nudged my legs apart, running her hands so perfectly up my body.
And before I could worry about making it to our appointment on time—or anything else for that matter, Tazmin began playing with the hem of my leggings.
Before carefully guiding them down my legs.
I let out a softer moan when Tazmin sucked down right at the sensitive spot of my neck, smoothing her tongue over my soft skin as I naturally leaned into her.
"That feels so good," I whispered as she ran her hands down to my hips and kneaded her fingers so perfectly into them.
"Good baby," Tazmin said, now leaning back from my neck.
But only to lower down onto her knees in front of me.
Which was always an incredible sight.
Especially as I watched her guide my leggings further down and off my legs entirely with my underwear.
And as soon as Tazmin took her hat off and flung it carelessly to the side, I was officially burning for her touch.
"Just relax for me beautiful," my wife said, gently running her hands up my tense thighs and kneading the tension away for me.
I let a long hum, leaning further back against the counter as Tazmin pressed her mouth into my core, swirling her tongue so perfectly around my sensitive clit.
Which immediately made a deep moan fall from my lips and echo around us.
Especially when Tazmin held my hips in place and let her tongue roam all over my clit which slowly grew more swollen under her touch.
Tazmin's name was almost like a chant that echoed from my lips—only in strings of messy and drawn-out moans.
My body nearly burned with each stroke of her tongue against me, unable to fully adjust to her speed which she consistently changed.
Which quickly sent me up toward my peak.
I was nearly gripping and tugging at her hair—unable to stop myself from messing it up as she held me in place for her soft mouth.
"Like that—just like that," I breathed out as soon as she hit a certain speed that made my hips arch into her.
And Tazmin didn't hesitate to listen, keeping the same smooth pace for me as she let her hands roam up my body.
Goosebumps prickled down my body and my head naturally fell back as my eyes rolled closed.
"Tazmin," I breathed out in the deepest moan yet, falling into such a smooth and warm orgasm.
Especially as she continued moving her tongue so perfectly against me.
Which helped me ride out my calming orgasm, feeling my tense body slowly relax against her as I let out a few deep breaths of relief.
"Feel better baby?" Tazmin murmured against me, roaming her hands down my relaxed body.
I let out a soft hum, "Much better," I whispered, fluttering my eyes open as I lifted my head up.
Only to watch Tazmin lick and suck away any mess she had made of me.
Until she had stood to her feet, not even bothering to fix her adorably messy blonde hair.
And as soon as she grabbed one of the flushable wipes to help wipe me and leave me a little more comfortable—she carefully pulled my underwear and leggings back up, not allowing me to contribute an ounce of my energy.
"Lunch is ready downstairs if you're hungry beautiful," Tazmin told me as I now ran the brush gently through her long blonde hair, "Hot wings and crispy fries just how you like it."
I hummed, naturally feeling my mouth water, "That sounds so fucking good right now," I said, now securing my wife's hat back on her head.
Tazmin smiled down at me, "I also packed your favorite snacks too," she said, and I already knew exactly why she had all of this food ready.
She does this every day now since she seriously dislikes it when I don't eat food at home.
I could request some random fast food meal and Tazmin would find a way to make it for me.
"Thank you beautiful," I whispered, leaning up to gently kiss her lips before I eagerly guided us out of the bathroom and downstairs.
Where we both sat at the kitchen island together, eating the hot wings and fries my wife had made.
And I swear each time this meal tastes better and better.
Once we left, I sat in the car perfectly relaxed after how Tazmin had tended to me—feeling beyond excited to see a glimpse of our baby.
I swear I couldn't stop smiling.
Not even as we waited in the lobby of the cute clinic.
Or when we made it back to the room.
Even as the doctor talked to us, I was naturally smiling like a fucking idiot—sneaking glances at all the equipment.
Tazmin did all the talking for the both of us—until finally, it was time to lay back on the cushioned exam bed.
My wife gently rolled up my black tank top for me, watching as Dr. Vasquez grabbed the bottle of cold gel.
"This is going to be a little cold," Dr. Vasquez warned me first, immediately earning an impatient nod from me.
And at my confirmation, the woman carefully poured some of the gel onto my stomach—grabbing the Ultrasound probe to spread the gel out.
Which immediately caused the screen beside me to flicker, and a grainy image slowly began to take place.
At first, the image was a little difficult to decipher, just shadows and shapes—until Dr, Vasquez adjusted the angle.
And a small, dark spot became visible.
“There it is,” Dr. Vasquez says softly, pointing to the screen. “That’s the gestational sac.”
I drew in a deep breath, processing the grainy image on the bright screen in front of us.
It wasn't much considering we're only five weeks in, but it was enough to see the beginning of our baby growing.
"That's really our baby," I whispered, feeling tears burn in my eyes as Tazmin gently squeezed my hand for reassurance.
And even seeing her dark eyes grow subtly glossy was enough to make my already heightened emotions grow.
Dr. Vasquez gently smiled at us both, “It’s very early, so all we can see is the gestational sac, where the embryo is developing," she explained to us, holding the Ultrasound probe still against my stomach, "At this stage, it’s too small to see much more, but everything looks just as it should.”
I nodded a few times in a row, beyond happy to hear that our baby is growing as he or she should.
"Already so perfect," Tazmin said, staring at the screen in nothing but visible admiration.
"Beyond perfect," I agreed with her, gently squeezing her hand in mine as we took in everything on that screen.
Until eventually, Dr. Vasquez pulled the medical tool away from my stomach.
And as she printed out our pictures for us, Tazmin carefully wiped the gel off of my stomach for me and helped me sit up.
The pictures that were printed out and handed to us were beyond perfect.
I swear I wanted to carry it with me everywhere until further notice.
Even as I sat in the car after the appointment with Tazmin driving, I continued to stare at the picture almost in awe.
Like I couldn't truly grasp that I was growing life inside of me.
"We shouldn't get too much," I told my wife as we walked through Target.
I swear she's already bought so much for our baby, but considering we haven't moved and we don't know the gender—I want to hold off on some stuff.
"We're just looking," Tazmin assured me, which naturally made me laugh.
Mostly because she says we're "looking" every time.
And then we end up with a filled cart.
We've already been to numerous baby boutiques and Tazmin has also been stopping by different designer stores to plan what we would get depending on the gender.
I swear she's already the cutest mom ever.
"Baby look at this," Tazmin whispered, immediately trailing over to the bouncer.
A red Ferrari baby bouncer.
I shook my head with a smile, "You're too much," I said, eyeing my wife who was now playing with the steering wheel, "I feel like you checked for this online first and that's why we're here right now."
Tazmin pursed her lips, subtly side-eyeing me in the cutest way possible, "Maybe but it's cute—you have to admit it," she said, turning to me with adorable brown eyes.
Which naturally made a long defeated sigh fall from my lips, "I don't know what I'm going to do when there's a mini you," I determined, knowing I would definitely be in for it.
"So we're getting it?" Tazmin asked me with a slow smile growing on her lips.
I jokingly rolled my eyes, "As if I could ever tell you no," I said, eyeing her beautiful face, "I'm sure he or she will love a red Ferrari bouncer anyway," I determined, knowing it was gender-neutral.
"Exactly—they have to love it," my wife said as she happily grabbed one of the large boxes to put in the cart.
Meanwhile, I was shaking my head at her with a smile, especially as we wandered off further into Target.
Where Tazmin began looking at different bottles and other necessities that we would later need.
Until finally it was nearing four, and it was officially time to leave Target.
And considering our cart was filled to the brim yet again—I'm sensing we won't need any gifts when it comes to our baby shower.
"Okay... this is cute," I said, eyeing the house that looked just as Tazmin described it to be.
It was like a mix of cozy and modern.
The exterior was a light grey and cream stone with some parts white—and then matte black window and door accents.
"You like it, baby?" Tazmin asked me, her dark eyes trailing my face as we approached the front door.
Which was black and arched so beautifully.
"Yeah, I think so far I really do," I whispered as Tazmin instinctively opened the door for me.
And almost immediately, the new house smell filtered in around me.
The lighting was bright and the open living area was perfectly airy.
So many things were already perfect about this house.
The greyish wood floors, the black accents—even the subtle modern feel without it being too much.
The kitchen was beautiful and all three bedrooms were spacious.
Even the master bedroom had an incredible ensuite.
The best part is that the lower level of the house was the main living level—the second level was more for entertainment, like a movie theatre or game room.
Which meant we wouldn’t have to worry too much about stairs.
The backyard was spacious too—with a sparkling pool and a patio that had enough space for an outdoor sectional and a grill.
There was also enough grass around it all for my liking—even with the pool lined decently with concrete for lounge chairs.
Being out of the city definitely gives you a lot more space.
Which would definitely be an adjustment for me, but I think I'm officially ready to be out of the busy city.
Especially with our child.
"I think this might be the one," I whispered to my wife as we stood outside in the backyard.
A backyard that I could suddenly see us in.
Maybe with Tazmin grilling and me sitting on the outdoor sectional with our baby cradled in my arms.
It would be a soft sunset and the air would feel so warm.
And it would all just be so perfect.
We'd be perfect.
"I think so too, Mil," she whispered, gently squeezing my waist as she stood behind me.
"I can just see it all so vividly," I said, my voice so soft and calm as my light eyes took in the backyard in front of us.
"Me too," Tazmin murmured, pressing a soft kiss to my covered shoulder, "We would make this a home baby."
I hummed, feeling everything burn so excitedly around me, "We would without a doubt," I whispered, turning around in her arms to meet her dark eyes.
But only to briefly kiss her lips before suddenly saying—
"Let's put in an offer."
Tazmin immediately smiled against my lips, "Let's do it beautiful," she murmured back to me.
And suddenly, it all felt more real than before.
Especially after our appointment and baby shopping at Target.
But now the idea of moving into our house—a house that we picked out together—suddenly shifted everything around us.
And I couldn't help but welcome the change that came with that.
