Case FIle 79

Case File Name:
A Need Not A Want.

♤Chapter Seventy-Nine♤

"Perfect we'll have another meeting later in the week to discuss more about this case," Ivanna said as she stood from her chair.

I nodded alongside my coworkers who all gathered their things as I closed my notepad and stood from my chair to leave the conference room.

And as soon as I made it back to my office, I began working on the same case I just had a meeting regarding.

But I needed to write the details while they were fresh in my mind.

I also need to add better points to the defense argument for the jury.

A sigh fell from my lips as I briefly glanced over at the time, noticing lunch hour approaching.

I had my same one o'clock meeting with my therapist Dr. Brooks as usual.

It's only been five months now since I started back in therapy, and I already feel so much fucking lighter.

The hardest part was pushing through the beginning process—and just really sticking with it during the hardest sessions.

I've significantly improved my communication skills with Tazmin—although, I definitely still have my moments.

Only this time I'm more aware when I'm avoiding a topic so I can actually work towards discussing it.

Except for one specific topic that revolves around Tazmin's sister.

But it's been close to six months now since that all happened in December and there haven't been any issues with moving on from it.

I honestly see Gia less and less now days after the whole club incident.

Tazmin doesn't even like the idea of me being near her.

But aside from that and the one unspoken topic, therapy changed my perspective on communication and relationships—or specifically my relationship with Tazmin.

I don't think I've ever experienced such stability and consistency like this before.

It's like I know what to expect out of each day.

Well, except for today.

Today I decided to change things up and surprise Tazmin after therapy.

Which luckily didn't run over past an hour.

I would have a heavier workload later for taking a lengthy lunch, but I truly didn't mind it.

Especially since I couldn't wait to see the look on her face when I handed her the bouquet of white roses.

I don't think I've rushed to her place so quickly before.

I was nearly speed-walking through the main foyer, glancing around for her familiar blonde hair and perfect face.

"She's downstairs in the gym," Vic said as soon as I entered the kitchen.

Where he was shaking a blender bottle of what looked like a protein shake.

So this is what they do during the day?

Aside from illegal activities they apparently work out together too.

"Is that Oreo flavored?" I said with an amused smile, clearly being sarcastic.

Vic gave me a narrowed look as he swallowed the sip he took from his shake, "Are those flowers for me again?" he purposely asked.

Which immediately made me flick him off.

"I hope your shake tastes watered down," I called out as I turned on my heel.

"Fuck off Lena," Vic said back, earning a few amused chuckles from me as I walked down one of the many hallways towards the elevator, riding it down to the lowest floor of the house.

Where I surprisingly have never been before.

I honestly remained stuck in place after getting off the elevator—clearly unable to decide which way to go.

The echoing music was my only sign to follow.

And after passing what looked like a movie theater and then a game room—I finally made it to the gym.

Where I could already see Tazmin's frame through the glass walls.

And I swear I've never checked someone out in such an animalistic way before.

But the way she's doing pull-ups—and her toned arms that are flexed so fucking perfectly.

Suddenly, I'm forgetting why I'm even here.

Or who the fuck I am.

All I could do was wordlessly stare at her as I pulled one of the glass doors open to walk into the gym.

And I didn't bother interrupting her, not with the view she's currently giving me.

Instead, I waited for her to finish up with her last rep—watching her muscles tense so tightly under her black Nike compression shirt that she wore with matching basketball shorts.

Her blonde hair was pulled up into a messy ponytail and her bare face was nearly glistening from sweat.

Which was yet another thing I found so fucking attractive.

I swear Tazmin could do anything and I'm immediately turned on.

"Enjoying the view baby?" Tazmin called out over the music, turning to face me as she patted her face with the small white towel.

I smiled slightly, "Always," I emphasized as she approached me with her phone in her hand—immediately cutting the loud music off.

Tazmin openly eyed my frame, "This is a surprise," she murmured, her dark eyes shifting to the roses in my hand.

I shrugged, "I decided to take a longer lunch break—I needed to see you," I said, smiling wider when she ran her warm hands past my waist.

"Needed is a very specific word sweetheart," Tazmin said as she slid her hands down past my ass, gently squeezing the back of my thighs.

I hummed, staring up so deeply into her dark eyes pinpointed on me, "You're always a need not a want, Tazmin," I said, lowering my tone in insinuation as she subtly ran her hands under my dress to squeeze my bare ass.

"Say my name again," Tazmin said, pulling me in even closer to her.

Which immediately made me shake my head, "Tazmin," I said for her, pressing my hands against her firm stomach, "You're going to get me sweaty."

Tazmin smirked slightly, "Good now you can shower with me," she said, purposely pressing her body to mine.

I gave her a narrowed look, "But I have to be back at the office—"

"And I need to be inside of you," Tazmin emphasized with a raised brow.

And just like that, all my thoughts disintegrated in my head—almost nodding wordlessly at her statement.

"Upstairs," I said, my voice so low that I had to forcefully clear my throat, "Take me upstairs Tazmin."

My girlfriend immediately nodded, grabbing my hand to guide me out of the gym and back down the long hallway toward the elevator.

And almost as soon as the shiny doors fell closed, Tazmin had me pressed against the cold wall—trailing soft kisses down my neck as she nudged my legs further apart.

Which left me even needier than I could've possibly felt before, slowly losing my grip on the bouquet in my hand.

Until the elevator suddenly dinged open and Tazmin was nearly dragging me off toward her bedroom.

And as soon as she had the door shut—the bouquet was flung onto the bed, now unzipping my black dress.

Which I had down not even seconds later with my stockings and underwear.

The only thing left was my bra that I managed to unhook, meeting Tazmin in the bathroom where she was occupied with starting the shower for us.

Meanwhile, I was occupied with taking her clothes off of her beautiful body.

As soon as she was naked with me, I tugged her into the shower with me—where we began lathering the sweet soap in our hands to wash every inch of each other.

Or less washing and more feeling the softness of each other's bodies.

Tazmin got distracted along the way with my chest, squeezing my boobs as she ran her thumbs over my hardened nipples.

Which immediately earned a string of moans from me as I ran us under the warm water—rinsing our bodies of the soapy suds.

I hummed as soon as Tazmin leaned down and pressed her lips to mine—running my hands past her waist and tugging her deeper into my body.

And with each passing second, our drawn-out kisses managed to get deeper and deeper until suddenly—

Tazmin flipped me around and pressed me to the cold shower wall.

And as soon as the coldness met the front of my body—specifically my needy nipples, I was a fucking mess.

"Don't run baby," Tazmin said as soon as I arched away from her teasing touch against my folds.

I whimpered as soon as she gripped my hips with one hand—holding me in place as she slid two fingers into my entrance slicked just for her.

"Fuck," I breathed out as she slowly began pounding so perfectly in and out of my tight walls.

My chest nearly rose and fell with each moan that I tried to desperately muffle with my closed lips, knowing Vic was probably around here somewhere.

A louder whimper vibrated in my chest when Tazmin suddenly grabbed my dark hair, tugging my head further to the side so she could meet my stare as she fucked me.

"Don't hold back your moans," Tazmin said, sliding in even deeper into me which easily made a drawn-out moan vibrate in my chest, "This is your house too baby."

I nearly whined at her attractive words.

Which were so fucking affirming, considering I don't technically live here full time even after five months.

Tazmin just always considers this as our house.

"Fuck—baby," I nearly pleaded as soon as she gripped my hips back to take each stroke.

Which nearly made me grow so tense that my entire body trembled

And as soon as I tightened around her fingers, my eyes rolled closed—immediately basking in the orgasm that spread to every edge of my body.

"That feels so good," I breathed out as Tazmin continued to help me ride my orgasm out.

"You're so beautiful baby," Tazmin whispered in my ear, pressing soft kisses down the side of my neck as I slowly grew limp against the cold shower wall.

"I can't get enough of you," I breathed out as she slowly slid out of me.

And almost immediately I turned around, even if my legs began to ache from previously squeezing them so tightly.

"I need you to interrupt my workouts more often," Tazmin said as she leaned down to kiss my
lips, "I prefer doing cardio with you."

I smiled slightly against her lips, "You're too fucking smooth with words I swear," I mumbled against her lips, "Because how did I even end up in this shower with you right now?"

Tazmin hummed against my lips, "The same way you ended up by my side tonight," she countered back with no hesitation at all.

I raised a brow as I pulled away from the kiss to meet her dark eyes, "Tonight?" I clarified, running my hands up her toned arms.

Tazmin nodded, "They finally hired a new FBI director yesterday," she briefly explained, "And I secured a last-minute dinner with him."

My smile immediately widened, "That's so good baby," I said, immediately pulling her into a hug.

"It is," she said as she hugged me back, running her hands up my back, "But he's a family man and I think it would be good to have you on my arm."

I pulled back from the hug to meet her stare, "Oh yeah?" I asked in a lowered tone, "So I can finally be a little more involv—"

"No, this is just a dinner," Tazmin quickly shut my idea down, "This is as far as you'll get to
being involved."

I let out a long sigh, "Fine," I mumbled, pursing my lips into a pout.

That Tazmin leaned down to kiss away, "It's always for your safety, you know this Mil," she said, pecking my lips repeatedly.

Which annoyingly made me giggle a few times as I nudged her away.

"Okay-okay," I said as soon as she leaned back down to press more kisses to my lips, "What's the dress code?" I curiously asked.

"It's just dinner—wear anything you want baby," Tazmin assured me as she leaned down to kiss both of my cheeks.

I hummed happily, "I can't wait," I said, tilting my head back further so she could trail kisses all over my face.

"Me too—I love showing you off," Tazmin said as she pulled me into a brief kiss.

Which I immediately reciprocated, smiling against her lips at her genuine words.

I'm just happy to even be slightly involved.

I also want to meet this director, who I'm hoping will cause us zero issues in the coming future.

Later that day after work and rushing to finish my cases, I was right back at Tazmin's house getting ready.

And even if it was just dinner as Tazmin put it, I still decided to wear a white strapless dress with my dark hair down.

I put on light makeup and silver jewelry—slipping on black Prada heels and grabbing my black crocodile Birkin.

And soon I was downstairs where Tazmin waited for me—wearing a black short-sleeve top with matching dress pants and a shiny Hermés belt.

Her blonde hair was down and slicked precisely behind her ears while she wore minimal makeup.

"You look perfect baby," I said as I approached Tazmin who stood by the kitchen island previously on her phone until she lifted her head at my presence.

And eyed my body from head to toe.

"Thank you beautiful," Tazmin said as I stopped in front of her, running my hands past her waist and pressing my body to hers, "You smell so fucking good," she murmured, nuzzling her face into my neck.

Which made a smile grow on my lips, "I'm wearing your favorite," I whispered as I ran my short manicured nails up her back.

My girlfriend pressed a soft kiss to my neck, "Anything on you is my favorite," she determined, now pulling back from my neck to kiss my lips.

And I didn't hesitate to reciprocate her kiss, running my hands down her back and gripping her even closer to me.

"I have something for you," she whispered against my lips.

Which immediately made my stomach grow in excited knots.

"What is it?" I asked as she pulled back from the kiss slightly—reaching in her pocket for the small Cartier box.

A slow smile grew on my lips as she handed me the deep red box.

"Open it for me baby," Tazmin said as I held the box in my hand.

And I didn't hesitate to carefully pull the top off the red box—where a smaller leather box sat.

Upon setting the cardboard box down, I snapped open the jewelry box, partially expecting shiny earrings to blind my eyes.

But instead, it was a ring?

A very expensive diamond ring that nearly gleamed under every shred of light.

Even the band had tiny diamonds lining it.

And I swear the sight of the ring in my hand made something hitch in my throat.

But not in a dreadful way?

Or even the usual fear I would feel at the idea of getting married...

Instead of feeling standoffish, I felt excited?

"You look a little dazed baby," Tazmin suddenly said, gently running her hands up my sides, "You know it's not an engagement ring yeah?" she whispered, her dark eyes trailing every edge of my face.

"But what if it was?" I suddenly said, not even thinking the serious words through.

Tazmin tilted her head as soon as my stare locked with hers, "I mean... it could be?" she said, blinking a few times to herself in clear confusion, "I didn't realize your views on marriage changed."

I nodded almost repeatedly out of sudden nerves, "Yeah me either but I just..." I suddenly trailed off as I stared so deeply into her dark eyes, "I really want to marry you Tazmin."

And my genuine words alone seemed to send us both for a loop.

Mostly because this is a big fucking deal.

There would be vows made to each other and rings and—

She would be my wife.

And I would be hers.

And somehow I can't think of anything I would want more with her.

I just love her so fucking much it genuinely makes me glow from the inside out.

"I really want to marry you too Milena," Tazmin said, her lips twitching up slightly as she stared down into my eyes.

"Yeah?" I whispered in clarification, wanting to make sure this was what she wanted too.

And almost immediately Tazmin nodded, "Yeah baby," she whispered, giving my waist a gentle squeeze, "I just can't believe you took away my chance to propose to you."

I blinked a few times, "You're right this is really fucking impulsive, and we've only been together for half a year. I was just thinking about how much I love you and how I want to wake up to you every day and now I ruined any kind of proposal—"

"You could never ruin anything," Tazmin immediately cut me short, leaning her face down closer to mine, "And technically we could count this August as a year for us—and I could get a real ring to propose with," she said, single-handedly smoothing over any overthinking thoughts I suddenly had.

Technically, we had been on and off since last August so I guess it could be considered a year.

But aside from being technical, we've been officially dating since December.

And it's June now so it really wouldn't be the worst thing if we randomly decided to get married...

I unconsciously smiled as I stared up into her dark eyes, "That sounds perfect," I whispered almost growing shy under her stare, "Maybe an August wedding or something."

My girlfriend immediately smiled, "I love that idea baby," she said, finally closing the gap between us to gently kiss my lips.

And automatically I tilted my head back further to kiss her back, "We're really engaged," I whispered against her lips.

"My beautiful fiancée," Tazmin murmured against my lips.

I hummed breathlessly at the new label, feeling my body grow with an unbearable warmth.

"I'm still formally proposing to you when you least expect it," Tazmin suddenly said as she pulled back from our shared kiss, "You deserve something special."

I nodded, "And so do you," I said, which immediately made Tazmin's lips twitch up slightly, "I'm going to give you the best fucking proposal ever."

Tazmin's smile grew amused, "You're so cute when you get competitive baby," she said, briefly leaning down to peck my lips, "Let me put this ring on you."

I hummed happily against her lips, "Of course," I whispered as she leaned away from me, gently grabbing the ring box from my hand.

And I couldn't help but remain wordlessly silent as I watched her take the diamond ring from the box—

And carefully slide it onto my middle finger.

"The real ring will go on your ring finger," Tazmin determined as she set the box on the counter behind her.

And pulled me into one of the biggest hugs of my life.

"I love you, Milena," she whispered, nuzzling in even closer to my body.

A smile unconsciously grew on my lips, "I love you too baby," I whispered back, running my hands past her waist as I hugged myself tighter to her.

And that's how we remained for the next few minutes—holding each other in a warm hug for seconds on end.

At least until it was time to leave for dinner at a nearby restaurant on the strip of Miami beach, which was luckily nearby.

A part of me felt really fucking nervous to meet this new FBI director—especially with how unpredictable he could be and the power he held.

And it didn't help that I noticed the stacks of cash casually sitting in front of the radio of Tazmin's G-Wagon.

Which I knew were for the new director after dinner—considering she didn't take them into the nice restaurant with us.

I unconsciously drew in a deep breath as Tazmin guided us to follow behind the hostess toward the reserved table.

And almost like she could sense my nervousness, Tazmin gave my waist a gentle squeeze, pressing a soft kiss to my temple.

Which seemed to ground me slightly to the present moment.

And not the future what-ifs I was currently drawing in my head.

"Tazmin," a man suddenly slid out of one of the booths.

And he looked to be in his late twenties with brunette hair, a neatly trimmed mustache, and a beard that was lined up perfectly to emphasize his sharp jawline.

He wore a white button-down with black slacks and a wide smile on his face.

"Roman," Tazmin said, reaching her free hand out to briefly shake his hand.

Until the man glanced over to me, "And you must be..." he trailed off.

"Lena," I said, reaching a hand out to shake his hand, "Tazmin's fiancée," I added, which immediately made Tazmin's dark eyes fall on me, almost looking at me in approval.

"Oh congratulations," Roman immediately said, his smile widening into a grin.

Which threw me off—mostly because I'm not used to someone in his position of power being this nice.

Then again, I'm morally traumatized from my last experience.

"Thank you," Tazmin said as she guided me into the booth to sit down first, sliding in beside me as Roman settled in across from us.

"So I'm going to get right to the point," Roman said as he slid his menu to the side, "We can discuss the details of this deal and maybe enjoy a nice dinner afterward."

Tazmin nodded once, not bothering to spare him a single word.

Which felt purposeful, but not in a disrespectful way.

Almost in a cautious way, which made me consider the idea that he could be recording this meeting.

At least until he slid a stack of papers across the table for Tazmin to read.

"I couldn't leave this deal off the books like the last director—so the bureau will know about it," Roman said as he slid a pen over to us.

But I made sure to purposely grab my heavyweight pen from my purse to hand to my fiancée.

"Thank you baby," she murmured to me, which made me nod once.

"You keep your business tied up and organized for us and we'll provide you and anyone who works with you full immunity," Roman said as Tazmin picked up the pen I gave her.

But before she could even glance at the written-up contract, I slid it away from her to read for myself.

"Just a moment," I told Roman as I gently grabbed the pen from Tazmin's hand.

"Lawyer?" Roman asked the woman beside me.

Tazmin immediately nodded, "Only the best," she said, sliding her hand across my thigh under the table and giving it a gentle squeeze.

But I was too focused on ensuring this contract looked up to standard for Tazmin.

Which took me another twenty minutes to precisely read through as Roman and Tazmin conversed over their preferred alcoholic drinks.

But I refused to drink one sip of alcohol until I finished reading over this.

And luckily everything looked up to standard—even the amount of money Tazmin would "donate" to the FBI on a yearly basis felt like a lowball number considering what they're providing on their end.

So after giving my fiancée the green light to sign the amazing fucking deal—I ordered myself a martini.

"You're lucky to have this one," Roman said to Tazmin, motioning to me as he went to sign his own name on the line.

"Oh I know, trust me," Tazmin didn't hesitate to say, taking a sip of her bourbon.

I smiled slightly as I leaned into her side, "So," I said, taking a sip of my martini, "I hear you have a wife and kids?" I asked almost purposely.

If he doesn't spare a lot regarding his family, it means he's purposely keeping Tazmin at a distance.

Which means he's not offering up full loyalty in the long run.

"Yes, a wife of almost three years and a son," Roman said, nearly smiling at the idea of them, "He's not born yet though—she's due in December."

I nodded, "That's exciting," I said with a growing smile, feeling happy that he actually discussed a more personal topic, "What does your wife do for work if you don't mind me asking?"

Roman's smile grew, "She was actually a field agent for the FBI," he said, shaking his head a few times, "But I refuse to let her work while she's pregnant."

Tazmin hummed, setting her drink down, "I get that," she said, which made my light eyes subtly drift over to her.

And I feel like me a few months ago would begin wondering what was going on in her mind.

If she's thinking about children.

But I don't even let myself spiral anymore.

None of it's beyond my control and it's about realizing that.

If she's thinking about children then she'll discuss it with me.

And I'll immediately say no.

I think?

I don't know a lot of my views feel like they're changing so fucking quickly—I honestly can't keep up anymore.

Maybe I am open to the small, very small, idea of having a child with Tazmin.

I just think I should discuss the idea of it with my therapist first.

"Oh the caviar's here," Roman said as soon as our waiter carefully set the ice bucket down.

Which held a small tin of caviar.

I tilted my head, "I've actually never tried caviar before," I admitted, which made Roman's face openly drop.

"What? Lena, no, you have to try some right now," Roman said, which made an amused smile grow on my lips.

Especially when Tazmin nodded, "Yeah, you gotta try it," she said, which earned a hesitant nod from me.

"If it's not good I'm—"

"You'll like it if you like seafood," Roman quickly assured me.

Which made me hesitantly nod yet again.

"Just one small bite," Tazmin said as she scooped a small amount onto the small silver spoon, holding it up to my lips.

"Okay..." I trailed off in a whisper, holding Tazmin's dark eyes as I hesitantly took the bite she gave me.

And the caviar was so soft on my tongue—it also tasted buttery, which I found weirdly delicious.

"I think... I like it?" I said with a growing smile.

Which immediately made a smile grow on Roman's face, "I call that a win," he said as he held his hand up for Tazmin to high-five.

And the action alone made an amused expression grow on Tazmin's typically serious face—hesitantly reaching her hand up to high-five him.

"I can already sense this is going to be a good partnership between us Tazmin," Roman said as he went to take a sip of his drink.

Tazmin immediately nodded, "I couldn't agree more," she said, now taking a sip of her drink as well.

And soon they were talking about Roman's first day on the job, which was this Thursday—Tazmin even offered to take him and his wife out to dinner this weekend to celebrate.

Which I found myself looking forward to.

I also felt beyond fucking thankful that this partnership would be a good thing for us all.

Which is something I desperately needed after what happened previously.

It finally feels like everything worked itself out for the better after such a chaotic few months.
