Case File 72

Case File Name:
Her World And Mine.

♤Chapter Seventy-Two♤

After finishing off the soup and grilled cheeses, Tazmin and I ended up taking a nap.

Even if I had already been asleep all day.

But the effects of those painkillers were still lingering—and Tazmin's presence somehow made me sleep even better.

We nearly slept another two hours before we woke up yet again.

And after a hot shower and allowing Tazmin to replace my bandage with more Aquaphor—I felt really good.

I also felt energized, which was definitely due to the amount of sleep I had gotten.

"You could add more cheese," I told Tazmin as I stood beside her in the kitchen.

Tazmin raised a brow, "Would you like to do it yourself?" she asked, clearly being sarcastic with me.

I jokingly rolled my eyes, "It was constructive criticism," I said, leaning back against the counter in front of her.

Tazmin only shook her head at me with an amused smile, adding another layer of cheese to the pizza—which I knew was due to my constructive criticism.

"How about I get started on drink duty?" I offered as I leaned away from the counter.

"Oh, so we're drinking now?" Tazmin asked with an amused smile, watching as I began opening cabinets.

"There's nothing better to do," I determined as I grabbed two cocktail glasses.

Tazmin lazily raised her brows, "I could name a few things," she subtly murmured, which made a smile grow on my lips.

Along with a faint blush that annoyingly burned on my cheeks.

Because I knew exactly what she meant by her words.

"I don't think you should drink yet," Tazmin said as she grabbed the bag of pepperoni on the counter, "You just had those painkillers—"

"Which was almost twenty-four hours ago," I pointed out as I grabbed the bottle of Vodka from one of the cabinets along with a shaker.

Tazmin hummed lazily, "Fine but don't make them strong—you seem like the type to do that," she said.

I scoffed slightly, "I'll have you know, I used to be a bartender," I said, placing a hand on my hip as I raised a brow at her.

Tazmin's lips spread into an amused smile, eyeing my hand on my hip, "Is that so?" she asked, purposefully nudging my hand off my hip.

I smiled slightly, "For like one night... yeah," I subtly murmured under my breath, "The bartender let me on the other side of the bar that night—she taught me a thing or two."

And by two, I mean, she taught me how to tie a cherry stem with my tongue.

And how to stay quiet when being fucked in one of the back closets...

So maybe one of three things.

"And what's this bartender's full name?" Tazmin asked with a tilted look, "Just out of curiosity and all."

I rolled my eyes, "Right... just out of curiosity," I mumbled, softly nudging her as I began making us cosmopolitans.

Which didn't take me that long to mix together—by the time Tazmin had the pizza in the oven, I was already off looking noisily through the house.

Which was entirely bare aside from the furniture.

"Uno?" I said as I grabbed the cards and other board games from the closet in the hallway.

"Careful, your stitches are still fresh," Tazmin said as she approached me, taking the board games from my arms and leaving me with the cosmopolitan I held in my free hand.

I jokingly rolled my eyes as she sat the games down at the table, "I had it," I assured her as I walked over to the table to sit down.

"I just want you to take it easy for the next week," Tazmin suggested as she stood beside my chair.

"If it makes you feel better," I sighed, grabbing the pack of Uno cards.

Tazmin pressed a fleeting kiss to my temple, "It makes me feel so much better baby," she murmured, watching as I opened the pack of cards and began shuffling them.

And as I got them shuffled a few times and passed out between us—Tazmin grabbed the now-finished pizza, which she cut into slices and brought over to the table with napkins and waters to go with our cocktails.

It was light and fun for a moment as we ate our pizza and played Uno.

Until it got competitive between us.

"Uno!" I quickly called out before Tazmin could say it.

I narrowed my eyes when Tazmin suddenly placed down a Draw Four card.

"Uno," Tazmin said before I could call it out, "And change the color to blue," she added, placing her last card down.

Which was a blue card with a four on it.

"I win," Tazmin murmured as she took a sip of her cosmopolitan, which was now her second one of the night.

Meanwhile, I'm about to be on my third in a few sips.

"I still won the two rounds before this," I pointed out with a childish shrug.

Tazmin smiled in amusement, "Right, and I won the round before those two and then this one," she pointed out as she ran her hand up my legs draped across her lap.

"So this is a tie..." I trailed off, glancing over to the pile of games I had grabbed.

"Let's settle it once and for all baby," Tazmin said as she gently kneaded my bare thighs.

Which were left bare from the oversized Prada sweater of hers that I borrowed, wearing only a pair of underwear underneath it.

Meanwhile, Tazmin settled on an Essentials sweatshirt and matching sweatpants.

"Twister," I said, settling on a more active game.

Which made Tazmin raise a brow, "Fresh stitches," she reminded me.

I forced my lips into a frown, "I'll be careful," I assured her as I grabbed the board game box, "I promise," I said as I stood from my chair.

Which caused Tazmin to stand with me, "One game," she compromised with me, causing a slow smile to grow on my lips.

"One game," I agreed to her compromise, opening the box of Twister.

And after a few minutes of getting the Twister mat laid out with the spinner—we began playing.

Or I began focusing on winning.

I'm naturally a competitive person, so I take any kind of game personally.

And since this was a win it all round—I'm taking it very fucking personally.

"Right foot red," I said aloud as I slid my leg across Tazmin's body and placed my right foot on the red circle.

And at this point, our bodies were a tangled mess.

Especially now with both my hands under me and one of my legs over her body.

If I lowered down, I would be straddling her.

"Left foot red," Tazmin said, shaking her head with a smile when I rolled my eyes, "You're really fucking serious about this baby," she murmured in amusement, placing her foot on the red circle.

"Don't call me baby right now," I said reaching my only free hand over to the spinner that I flicked.

But I instantly regretted it when it said—

"Left-hand red," I mumbled dryly, trying to figure out how to cross my arm to the right side without falling entirely.

"Mil," Tazmin nearly laughed as she watched me desperately try to lean over and place my hand on the stupid fucking red dot.

Until my foot slipped.

But Tazmin naturally lowered her body first—catching mine in the process as her hands instinctively grabbed my waist.

Which somehow left me straddling her body entirely, shifting the mood between us.

Especially as we silently peered into each other's eyes for a moment.

"You fell first," I pointed out, but it was less of my competitive tone.

My voice sounded so breathless in my ears—barely able to keep up with the mood that suddenly switched between us.

I drew in a deep breath when Tazmin ran her hands so perfectly up my back.

"Someone had to catch you," she said with a raised brow, her voice lowered and her dark eyes never wavering away from mine.

Especially when I unconsciously ran my hands up her arms, resting them around her neck.

The air between us was noticeably tense, but somehow in the best way possible.

It made me lean closer to her, wanting to be as close to her as I possibly could.

"And you'll always catch me?" I asked before I had a chance to think it through, glancing so deeply into her dark eyes.

Until my stare unconsciously diverted down to her lips.

"I feel like we're not talking about Twister anymore," Tazmin whispered as she drew my body closer to hers, easily pressing our bodies together.

I leaned down before I could process it, nuzzling my nose against hers as I stared so deeply into her eyes.

A shade of the darkest brown that I couldn't possibly get tired of.

Even her long eyelashes which somehow fanned across her sharp cheeks so perfectly.

It almost makes me question how I ended up with her.

How I could have someone this fucking beautiful offer her world to me on a silver platter.

"We're not talking about Twister anymore, Tazmin," I finally forced out in a deep sigh, nuzzling closer to her as she ran her hands up and down my back.

A small action that I had missed so fucking much.

"Then yes," Tazmin whispered, barely grazing her lips against mine as she placed a soft kiss to the side of my mouth, "You know I'll always catch you."

I nodded a few times, fluttering my eyes closed when we naturally leaned into each other—and closed the gap between us almost immediately.

I let out a soft sigh when her warm lips met mine, moving so gently against mine.

Everything around me burned as I hugged Tazmin tighter, kissing her back even deeper.

Each kiss we shared was so gentle and drawn out, especially as I tilted her head back for better access.

It felt like the first time when I wanted to take my time—to not kiss her with hunger or need, but instead with intention.

And I wanted to do so many things to her with intention.

Tazmin hummed against my lips as soon as my hand slipped past the waistband of her sweatpants.

And as my fingers basked in the warmth that awaited me there, I kissed Tazmin even deeper—muffling her perfect moans with my mouth as I ran gentle circles around her clit.

It felt like something entirely different between us.

Something so indescribably warm as I continued my slow pace against her.

I nearly savored each sound I drew from her—a softness for my ears only.

All of her was for me only.

"Milena," Tazmin's soft words echoed into my mouth as I sent her up closer and closer to her peak.

And hearing her perfect voice and feeling her quickly get wetter against my fingers—easily encouraged me more.

But I never once sped up or rushed my pace.

If anything I dragged it all out even more, basking in this intimate moment between us as I kissed her deeper.

Until I pulled away to gently caress my nose against hers, feeling her body tense against mine as she fell into her orgasm that I helped her ride out.

Seconds later, Tazmin slowly relaxed under me with the softest hum.

Meanwhile, I was still basking in every second we just shared so perfectly with each other, realizing I had just made love to her.

And now I wanted to do it so many more uncountable times.

Tazmin suddenly gripped me closer to her, leaning past my face to nuzzle into the crook of my neck that she placed a gentle kiss to.

Which earned a content sigh from me as I sunk down in her arms, sliding my hand up and past her waistband.

And as my legs naturally wrapped around her body, Tazmin littered soft kisses down my covered shoulder before pressing them back up toward my neck.

"I love you," she whispered so perfectly in my ear.

I nuzzled deeper into the crook of her neck, "I love you too," I forced out in a soft whisper.

And weirdly enough that's how we remained for another thirty minutes—remaining put on the Twister mat tangled in each other's arms like the world could end at any given moment.

But I have her world and she has mine.

And it felt like that's all we could ever need.

I oddly found myself hating the idea of leaving this safe house with Tazmin.

Which was annoying because not even two hours later we got word that we could finally leave.

We could actually walk outside or go somewhere with surveillance cameras and not be paranoid.

But for some reason, none of that was relieving to me.

"We'll leave tomorrow," Tazmin offered as I brushed my teeth, and I knew she could sense my sudden quietness with this entire leaving topic.

I nodded a few times, "Maybe the evening would be best," I subtly suggested, wanting to stay here for as long as I possibly could.

Tazmin smiled slightly, "We can stay an entire fucking week if that's what you want Mil—just say the word baby," she said, running her hands past my waist as she hugged the front of her body to the back of mine.

I shook my head as I leaned over to spit my toothpaste out, "No, I should probably get back to work and normal life," I reluctantly determined as I sat my toothbrush down, "Plus I still have to celebrate Christmas at my sisters."

Tazmin pressed a soft kiss to my cheek, "Then we'll leave tomorrow evening," she said, choosing the time I had previously specified.

I nodded a few times, "Tomorrow evening," I repeated back to her, slowly warming up to the idea.

I did miss my family and Marie.

I also missed the twins even if they get on my last fucking nerve.

The only person I'm slightly worried about is—

"Gia can also check over those stitches," Tazmin suddenly determined.

And I had to physically stop my face from falling.

Or showing any sort of suspicious emotion.

"No she doesn't," I said before I could think it through, which made me awkwardly glance down to the sink, "I mean, they feel fine."

Tazmin tilted her head slightly, "She's a medical professional baby—plus it'll all be off the books so no one will know," she assured me, pressing a soft kiss to my temple as she pulled away to start brushing her teeth.

Which left me stiffly silent at the sink in front of me—now reconsidering the idea of keeping everything that happened with Gia from Tazmin.

It didn't feel like the best idea but it also felt like the only option at this point.

I just don't think I can physically say those words to her at this point.

Hopefully, everything at least feels normal with Gia tomorrow.
