Sombra Frankenstein's bride. 3d Poster

Hi hi!

How are you? Hope you're doing ok!

So it's my first attempt in making 3d posters on my own. Original model was created by Arhoangel (twitter, patreon) and did the rest, like posing, adding background, post processing etc. Also i did some work on actual textures of the model and that's why this poster basically exists ^_^ I thought that just a texture files alone will be interesting only for like 2-3 artists here so i decided to do a 3d poster with that character to somehow entertain the rest of the crew. So i hope you'll enjoy it ?

If you don't mind a long reading i can give you a lil backstory.

A friend of mine was working on an animation with this model. And when he showed me a WIP there were those visible "seams" on the skin where 2 parts of textures meet each other. Usually it's easy to fix stuff like that in Photoshop if it's a static poster, though for animation you actually have to edit the texture of a model. That's how i started to work on that character. Just to give you an example what i'm talking about here's is like side-by-side comparison:

I will also attach a small archive with more shots. Ironically the character has a painted seams that are part of that particular in-game skin ^_^

Now at this point i would like to explain that i'm not trying to say anything bad about 3d artists. I adore their work so much! And when i started to dig deeper - i started to respect them even more. Like holy sh*t just look what kind of difficulties they're facing while creating 3d artworks, and this is just a lil sample. People who saying that 3d artists just ripping models from the game and they are good to go simply don't understand the whole process. And you can't really blame "Model creators" for a bad textures, like for instance in video game industry there's the whole role "Texture Artist" for stuff like that. And the guys like Arhoangel, Mets, gifdoozer and many others are doing their best to provide those models and assets and make them easy to use.

From my side i will contribute to the community that i'm happy to be a part of by making some texture works. By all means i'm not a professional in that area, but i will try to do my best to help. I will be posting textures and videos dedicated to this topic here. Most likely some of those texture will be a part of public model releases after a while. Also since i'm learning to use Blender (a 3d software) anyways i will be occasionally post a 3d artworks as well (of course if you don't mind seeing it here)

As usual i will be more than happy to hear what do you think about the whole 3d thing. Just live me a comment here or DM me on Discord (AleskaArt#1058) when you'd have a spare time!

Wow! Thank you so much! Happy that you like it! Yeah that oily look was intentional, she doesn't look like that from "the stock", i added a Glossy shader. Also i made several renders with different light and materials setups and combined it in Photoshop. I can upload those (it's like Sombra is flying on transparent background ^_^) with the next post. Thank you once again for such a positive feedback!

That actually looks AMAZING. I love the sort of oily sheen she has (although I don't know if that was intentional or just a part of the program. Either way the lighting is great). Absolutely brilliant work, especially if this is apparently your first time doing it solo!
