Changes ideas for 2023 π
Added 2022-12-14 01:52:31 +0000 UTCHi guys, first of all, thanks to all of you patrons for the support and the small community that has been created on the Discord server, it was not something I expected and it is something that makes me happy. 2023 is very close and for a while, I have been thinking about making some changes regarding Patreon rewards and commissions. I will say it as suggestions to know your opinions, although it is most likely that I will make these changes from next year.
I will briefly explain my current situation, these last two years most of my salary has been saved to become independent, which I plan to do next year, so from now on, I will need a little more money to survive. So I'll tell you the ideas I have.
1) Regarding commissions, I'm thinking of raising the original price a couple of dollars and for patrons, changing the discounted prices for a percentage discount, either 5% or 10% of the original price. Since having separate prices confuses me a bit π
2) Make a change in the payment and the waiting list. This method that I have had until now (needing the payment first to add the client to the waiting list with a start date) I want to change it, many drawings accumulate, which is a bit stressful for me, besides not having a more stable salary, since some clients pay several drawings in advance, so that month I have a lot of profits but the following month not much since I dedicate myself to making the pending drawings. So the change I want to make is to add the clients to the waiting list and when their turn comes they must pay, through the invoice in Paypal, then I will start immediately with the drawing, and once finished the next client on the list follows So, with this method, I will only work on one drawing at a time and clients will wait less after payment for their drawing to be ready. The cons are that you will no longer be able to pay for drawings in advance, it will only be one at a time, and you will have to wait to make the payment, which can take 1 or 2 weeks, while not being able to know the exact date I will start the drawing π£ I hope you can understand what I mean with this new method, I hope to put it to the test at the beginning of 2023.
3) Stop doing some types of commissions, for example, comics take me a long time and the style I have does not fully convince me, I would like to pause this type of work for a while. Stop having sketch, lineart, and flat color commissions available, because not many people ask for them, and only have fully finished drawings available.
4) Add another tier and more rewards. I was thinking of tier 3 for $3 per month with access to WIPs of all my drawings and a slightly higher discount (for example for tier 2, 5% discount and for tier 3, 10%. Any suggestions for more rewards I will gladly receive them.
5) For tier 1, from 2023 I will no longer share the monthly summaries, there are so few people in tier 1, and nobody requests to have the summaries that I think it is not feasible to occupy more space in my Google Drive for that, so from 2023 all the summaries will be deleted along with the channel on the server π
I think that would be all, anyway if something else comes to mind I will edit this publication giving notice through my networks. I welcome any comments or suggestions. At the same time, I apologize for the sudden changes that are coming and especially for the price increase in commissions π

About the bust, half body, full body, and ponies commissions, they will continue standing, and that will not change π

I understand that commission types are sometimes not always can be useable at all times. I do know that there was a time that I would ask for a Lineart and full color. And I see that I get Full color than other types. But in my opinion, you can keep the Lineart and Full drawing category just in case (But if everyone favors full color drawings, then I'm totally cool with it). You may never know one day I might rotate at random times in case for a quick drawing. And I do believe in pausing in comic commissions. It's really frustrating and time consuming to create one. But it does make a story in a sequence of images. So I respect your decision of pausing comic commission when January comes. And for the waiting list, it's actually a good move. Because not only you can get to work one commission at a time, but it can also be relieved too. I understand that I do like to make payments in advance and the plan to have payment ready by the time you reach to the customer is a good strategy! I'm up for it. For the rewards summary, I really do want it still if the tier that I am is qualified. I always do like your works because it reminds me of how much of artist who were born in the early 2000s experienced what their vision of inspiration feels like. So I keep things like a memory, I look back and see the commissions that you made and say: "She really did a great job on all of my commissions involving my OCs and favorite canon characters". So I would like to have the monthly rewards still (If my selected tier is qualified). And finally, I am proud that what you want to be is becoming a success. As an artist myself, I'm trying my best to show the community of my drawing skills and making commissions (Which I would probably announce by next year after I show some of my work in these last two months due to a busy schedule from my college). And whatever you make is always a new image to see and take note. I hope you understand my response and I will continue to support your work because you have a talent that really takes me higher to another level of inspiration. If one day I made a list of cameos or honorable mentions, I'll make sure I mention you. I hope to look forward for exciting content and my introduction of my OCs and favorite canon characters!
