patreon

So...whats your opinion of Patreon?

I've been checking out SubscribeStar today and I got to thinking. Now I'm not saying that I'm moving or anything but it really settled in my mind on how people feel about using Patreon to support people.

On top of that, what attracted me is that SS tends to be more loose when allowing adult content which would mean that I wouldn't have to censored and remove my previews when I make my exclusive posts public...gah!

Anyway!

I always assumed that it was in good favor as it's more known than any of the others and I've gotten very familiar with it so I just want to know your take!

So, a week ago, I would have said ditch Patreon, but figured out what was happening, and cannot fault them for my mistake. That being said, I do support a few other Patreons, so this works. I did create a SubscribeStar account and took a look. I'm not opposed to you moving over, I am guessing that others will follow.

I understand becoming commercial and all that and trying to keep a clean face for the public and all. I don't really have a problem with it, it's just there have been recent events where Patreon has emailed artists, telling them that they will be removed from the platform for the things they post on other websites that go against Patreon's TOS. It hasn't happened to me personally but it just really rubbed me the wrong way as I'm an artist myself (separate from making sims cc) and I don't want to have to deal with something like that. I dunno, just a thought. I might look into doing both for the time being.

Yeah patreon has become pretty commercial so its only gonna crack down more over the years I would imagine. If you don't mind the extra work of posting I don't see why not do both if it doesn't cost to list yourself on other sites. Especially if you feel you can include more content on the other site.
