Episode 3 The Fall of the House of Usher

Comments

That "When life gives you lemons" monologue is one of my favorite in the Flanaverse

Grindhouse is so much fun! Phantasm is a great cult classic.

Thanks. I’ve been collecting dvds and blu rays since the dvd format first became available. Have a library of approximately 2,300 films, about 1/4 of which are horror. So many good films on offer in the genre. I had to work hard to narrow down my list of stuff that Kat should watch (IMO) that she hasn’t seen yet. Still have more than 130 must watch horror films by my count. Closer to 200 if you throw in gialli and other horror adjacent films. PS: I just added a second batch of suggestions to her Heretic reaction thread, if you’re interested.

Hey, nice list there! I'm a BIG horror fan, but there a few of those I haven't seen. Also, would be nice to have a list of the horror movies Kat has seen in total, so it'll be easier to recommend additional ones.

Kat, I didn’t know where else to put this, so I’m dropping it here. I’ll post it to your next YouTube video as well. I understand you’re open to movie suggestions so I’ve listed about twenty of my favorites that I don’t believe you’ve seen. I know you’re changing the direction of your channel somewhat and I certainly understand that (there’s only so many horror films, after all). But, the good news is, there are still LOTS of good horror movies you haven’t seen. I compiled a larger list, just from my personal library, and found at least 130 additional films in the genre that I believe are worthy of a reaction. But, for now, here’s my first batch of suggestions with a brief note on each. *Army of Darkness - 3rd and best entry in “Evil Dead” series *Dawn of the Dead remake - second best fast zombie movie (behind only “Return of the Living Dead”) *Grindhouse - recreates the grindhouse experience of the 70s; two movies connected by faux trailers; directed by Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino *Hell House LLC - best haunted house film in more than a decade *Hell Night - slasher goodness from the 80s; an under appreciated classic *The Howling - GREAT 80s werewolf film *The Rocky Horror Picture Show - greatest musical horror comedy ever made *Blade II - Wesley Snipes returns as Blade, ‘nuff said *Day of the Dead - third entry in Romero’s classic zombie trilogy *Dead Silence - scary puppets *Cemetery Man - surreal zombie film; possibly my favorite movie of all time *Exorcist III - skip the second one, it’s dogshit; best jump scare in movie history *Friday the 13th, Part IV - The Final Chapter - finish the original quadrilogy; worth it just to see Crispin Glover dance *High Tension - great French slasher *Phantasm - what’s real and what’s a dream? clearly an inspiration for “Nightmare on Elm Street”; deadly doings at the local mortuary *Phenomena - ever wanted to see a movie with Jennifer Connelly speaking via telepathy with insects, a pint sized serial killer and a crazy monkey with a straight razor? *Pieces - taglines: “Pieces. It’s exactly what you think it is” and “You don’t have to go to Texas for a chainsaw massacre” *Psycho Beach Party - a 60s beach party movie, made in the early 2000s and with a bottomless Amy Adams (AVERT YOUR GAZE) and a psycho murderer; hilarity ensues *Shaun of the Dead - best rom-zom-com ever *Zombie - see how the Italians did zombie movies in the late 70s; billed as a sequel to “Dawn of the Dead”, which it definitely was not; still a classic of the genre
