August 2019 Update

It’s time for another monthly update on what’s going on with the forum.

Last month we fell short of our $200 goal that keeps our costs break even.

I’ve been making changes in the backend to strengthen privacy and security. Encryption end-to-end is now in place to make sure information is secured, and nobody except you can interpret what you’re doing on the site.

We’ve finally finished up the server move, this was initiated a few months ago and while the site was moved pretty quickly we’ve been working on things in the backend. Full backups, redundancy, traffic routing is finally complete.

Over the next few months our goals are to move our image hosting to a faster service, migrate to a more secure domain service, and build up the community that we’ve built on Discord.

Our Discord has really grown and exploded in membership but there is a disconnect between forum membership and Discord membership. We want to combine the membership and extend what we have.

Lastly...

We had a brief down time this month due to a server misconfiguration to our security certificates. What happened was the intended result if our security certificates do not match. The site will not allow connection unless valid certificates are in place to ensure encryption and privacy.
