Map Pack Themes Poll

Please vote for the Map Pack theme you'd most like to see in upcoming months! We queried some of our cartographers to see what ideas they had for future map packs, and these are some options we came up with. Now, we may end up doing all of them, but the number of votes will determine how soon.

As a reminder, Map Packs are a benefit that all $15+ patrons receive, and each map pack delivers 10 digital maps designed for use on virtual tabletops.

More Information

As follows is a bit more information about each theme to help you decide.

"Mega Dungeon" proposed by Viktor Engman
Instead of there being a single large map where the players can explore, the dungeon spans over two or more maps of equal quality. A large castle with a torture dungeon and multiple floors, A wizard's tower with a portal to another dimension. There are many ways to take this.

"Stolen Skies" proposed by Harmony the Bard
A large airship piloted is being chased by two smaller airships. Spells are being hurled across the sky as the pilots skillfully enact evasive maneuvers to prevent enemy fire from critically damaging their ships.

The large airship belongs to a powerful group of smugglers who might be able to retire young after this heist (if they escape alive). The pursuing airships are piloted by humanoids who had their precious cargo stolen by the large airship. A crew of rag-tag adventurers stand scattered across the smaller, pursuing airships. Can they stop the thieves from pulling off this heist? Or would they prefer to take part in the heist and make off like bandits?"

"Atypical Abodes" proposed by Shy Spencer
A map pack dedicated to non-humanoid/non-medium sized dwellings, businesses, dungeons, what have you. There are a lot of races/creatures that use tools and have at least a rudimentary intelligence that warrants more than 'A natural cave or abandoned dungeon where this creature sleeps but shows little to no other influence over the space aside, maybe perhaps the remains of its last meal.' I'd like to see more maps with such creatures specifically in mind.

Additionally, I feel there is lacking size diversity in buildings amongst RPG maps. It's unreasonable to assume that all buildings are built to be 100% all sizes accessible. This need is admittedly a little redundant because you could just alter the grid scale to make a map seem smaller or larger, but I do think having maps that include details that show a clear difference in scale would be a valid addition to a GMs map collection."

"Planar Voyage" proposed by Marcin Wójcik
A Map Pack that covers some locations on the classical inner and outer planes, as Spelljammer setting is on the rise and this kind of map might be highly sought for. For one pack, it might be elemental, ethereal, and astral, for other locations in Limbo, Mechanus, Celestia, Gehenna, etc.

This might be actually several packs showing different types of locations: Planar Castles, Planar Settlements, etc., or focused on a single plane like "Need-to-see while you visit Limbo."

"Varied Taverns" proposed by Lukas Johannimloh
I, for myself, use maps for everything in D&D, (playing mostly on VTT) and I hate to use the same Tavern map for multiple Taverns, so I would propose to create a map-pack with multiple Taverns (different price ranges, so the group can decide to go cheap or expensive etc) and other variations, maybe different connections like a Brewery or a pool.
This would also maybe be a cool project for multiple mappers where everyone does some Taverns to get different styles.

Oh joy more dungeon maps 🙄

God I'd loved for Atypical Abodes and Planar Voyage. We already have enough dungeon maps from the internet!

Love the wizard tower idea!

planar voyage not for spelljammer but the upcoming Radiant Citadel campaigns

Planar voyage for me as my players will eventually end up in the Shadow Realm as well as the Plane of Fire, and Plane of Air for the Air genies

Most of my taverns are theater of the mind so went with Mega Dungeon

It was close between the Mega Dungeon and Atypical Abodes.
